I own both consoles......trust me as of right now your not missing a thing.....i never touch the other console......am on the xbox a lot more.......online multiplayer is still far superior on xbox live.......the pay PSN is still the old unreliable free service
that now you pay for......its still far to early to judge the winner......if you go off specs alone happy gaming if not happy gaming..........take it from an owner of both theres nothing magical going on w/ps4 its a powerful least expensive option........am
of the mindset that MS shot them selves in the foot with the kinect........if there was a compelling game that went with it......it would sell,but to have forced on consumers means there is ZERO reason for it..........they went expensive (no games) kinect........and
cheap (what games need to be great) GPU........they did get it backwards............in the long run if MS doesnt have at least a dozen AAA IP exclusives (like HALO popular) by the end of 2015 it will be the end of xbox.........

The whole 720p, VS 1080p thing has nothing at all to do with frame rate. In fact if you compare COD Ghost on both platforms the XBox One version runs a lot smoother while the PS4 version struggles to maintain 60fps. Also, higher resolution doesn't necessarily
mean better textures. Look at COD Ghost as an example of this again. It doesn't matter if your playing the native 1080p PS4 version, or the 720P XBox One version, the textures suck up close. Yes the gun and players textures look great, but run up close to
a brick wall or something and its a big splotch of blur. Now take the 900p Plants VS Zombies Garden Warfare and the texture quality is better then COD Ghost.

I own both PS4 and XBox One and I have to say the PS4 is better graphically. However its not the major leap most claim it to be. I would say the leap in graphic quality between PS3, and 360 was greater based off what i've seen. While it wasn't the case with
every game, probably 7 out of 10 multi-platform games looked better on 360. The COD games were a prime example, as were others like Ghostbusters, and Fall of Cybertron.

I agree that the OS was a mess. However it is now vastly improved over what it was. Its still not perfect, but give it time. I also agree that the Kinect is useless. I was a fan of the original since it had great stuff to support it, but this new Kinect
is useless at best and I have mine either off with the lens covered, or unplugged. I also don't like the way MS tries to force it on people when trying to use the DVR.

In the end if I had to choose one console I would pick PS4. While I think the XBox One currently has better exclusives at the moment, give it 8-12 months and that is sure to change. The system is also $100 cheaper, slightly more powerful, has a cheaper online
service that gives you a lot more, and they don't force a camera on you if you don't want it.

Finally though, why not stick to your PC? It can outperform PS4 easy if you happen to have the right equipment. I don't understand these people who put graphics above gameplay who bash XBox One, praise PS4, and simply just don't stick to PC only and be happy.

 

I remember when I first had the thought to buy an X1.... the MS Kinect team showed up at my door and FORCED the Kinect on me..... oh my.... the horror... I had no choice...

Am sort of in your shoes OP. I bought my self a XB1 second hand a month ago. I do enjoy it when I go on it. But that is that's the thing when I go on it. As at the moment there is noting making me go ill go on my XB1. I am enjoying Forza. But even then I
have to force my self to go on it. But when I do I do enjoy my self. Just need some more good exclusives to come out.

 

I think of it more as an investment for the future, I upgraded my PC, 360 to X1 and then picked up a PS4...not alot going on for each individual right now but enough for someone to stay busy over the next year or so on all three...even waiting on sales from
each device.
