    Rant about listening to music apps while playing games.


    So back on the 360 it was so simple to connect my phone via bluetooth and listen to my music while playing a game. Now there are built in apps to do this, which would be great, if they played in the background. I tried playing the Pandora app and then
    hopping on Black Ops 3. But the only way to listen while playing is to "Snap" it. While snapped, it takes up like 1/4th of my screen. I just don't see why you cant snap and then minimize the app. I don't see them changing this really because the source
    I used to find out how to Snap apps was 2 years old. Does this not annoy anyone else?

    Music playing in the background on Xbox One

    While I was playing halo MCC I snapped the YouTube app and the snapped screen went transparent. Therefore I had the whole screen the play the game and listening to my music. It only happend once though

    I agree!!! I use to love listening to my own mix of saved CD's while playing games. Even more, just chilling out listening to music with the screen savers running on the music player. Xbox got many things wrong when they decided on the Xbox One performance
    abilities. Why take away what we loved on the 360?

    I would love an app that would play music off a flash drive or hard drive while playing a game. I hate that they took out the ability to play music and game at the same time without having to snap it. There is a thing I ran into on the feedback site where
    you could vote for future updates you would like to see in the Xbox if we get people to vote they may put it in the next Xbox one update. But from what I heard they don't expect the play music without snap update until some time in summer of this year. Here

    You can stream & listen to music through the Xbox Music app while playing your games. However, it currently has to be snapped to the side. If you unsnap it, the music pauses until you re-snap it. A lot of people have complained about this very issue and
    as a result, MS is aware of it and is working on fixing it so you can still listen to your music collection on the Xbox Music app while it is unsnapped. Unfortunately, we're not quite there yet...

    I'm not sure about the media player as I haven't tried using it, but one trick I use to listen to music is to snap Internet Explorer while using Pandora to listen to music while playing games. YMMV

    No split screen co-op anymore? There are a few things like on the 360 all I had to do to listen to my music while playing games was go to system settings - music - pc and I could play whilst listening to my own music.

    Maybe I am missing something with playing music on xbox1 but first I had to download "onecloud" onto pc and xbox one but then my music became playable in the xbox music app but I have to be in the app to play them so I cant listen to them and play games
    at the same time. To me that is a major backwards step to the 360.

    How do I listen to Xbox Music without snapping it?

    Unfortunately playing music while a game/app is full screen isn't supported at this time. I agree that it would be great to be able to listen to music while playing a game. I'll forward this to the feature team and hopefully it can be addressed in a future
    update. Thanks for the feedback!
