1. randomly dropped wifi

• Subject

My Xbox one randomly drops my wireless internet connection. Several other wireless devices have no issue. When I go to my xbox one network settings it lists my network name and open NAT. All I have to do is reenter my network password and all is fine.
But this is happening multiple times a day and is a terrible pain in the ***. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've already called Microsoft and they were absolutely no help. Thanks.

:)

constant and persistent destiny server drops

Ever since the hotfix I get randomly dropped from everything. I get dropped from strikes, patrols, missions and just about everywhere in between. It's getting old.

Xbox One Wireless Controller Issues

Yep, same problem, seems to be completely random. Tried it with two controllers, still the same. Took it back to the store and they tested it - fine!

Got it home, plugged it in (having reset to factory settings) controller dropped out several times as I was setting the Xbox up - so not even connected to the WiFi.

Tried it with controllers plugged in, with the house WiFi switched off, just kept doing it.

Then this afternoon - perfect! But nothing has changed in the house.

What I did notice though is that whenever the controllers dropped out, invariably it disconnected from the wifi as well.

Something else I have discovered, when the controller drops out and just flashes, the sync button on the side of the x box doesn't do anything. Then give it a few minutes after pressing the button and the XBOX logo flashes once and all comes back to life,
temporarily.

Have Microsoft admitted there is an issue with the WiFi cards in the X box one, it seems to me that even if the controller is plugged in, the WiFi card can randomly disconnect it

randomly dropped wifi

Greetings hookemhorns!

Appreciate if you can provide a bit more information so that we can have a better understanding of your situation, and hopefully be able to find you a solution.

What is the make and model of your router and modem (if this is not a single device)?

Which band are you using for wireless connectivity with your console (2,4 GHz or 5 GHz)?

Which of the following security methods are you using for your wireless network, WEP, WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK (AES)?
I've already called Microsoft and they were absolutely no help.
Appreciate if you can detailing out what you have tried so far, so we don't provide solutions that will only echo back.

Thanks in advance!

5. Hi,

Thanks for responding. My router is a Netgear 7550. My security is WPA2-PSK. I believe I have the correct ports open as my NAT type is open. I've noticed that if I go to my XBox one wireless settings and click go offline and then click go online it automatically
reconnects. By band are you referring to channel?

Thanks again

Thanks!

Just to clarify, are you experiencing intermittent disconnections from Live, or is it when you first start you console as it can't connect to your wireless network, or both?

Next time you get disconnected try run the diagnostic test instead and let us know the outcome of this test (where it fails to connect). Go to your console's network settings and select Test network Connection, which will verify if your
router can actually talk with the router and to the Internet-at-large.
By band are you referring to channel?
A "band" consists of many channels, or
frequencies, but from my understanding, the Netgear 7550 only use the 2,4 GHz band, therefore, and if you haven't already, try change the wireless channel to a non-overlapping channel in the 2,4 GHz range. Try experiement with the following channels:
1, 6, 11, to see if it improves the wireless signal strength.

If it's possible, try move your Xbox One as close as possible to your router, or if you by any chance could try connect wired with your console instead, would be even better.

Post back and let us know how that goes and we'll go from there.

7. It's actually both. Sometimes when I start up the console it will connect and sometimes it won't. The other day it would not so I entered my wifi password and all was good. Played a game for about 20 minutes, went back to the dasboard and it had already
disconnected. Sometimes it stays connected all day. I have run the diagnostic and it always says the same thing. Can't get an IP address. I then enter my wifi password and all is good. Although I've noticed recently if I go offline then right back online it
will connect without entering my password.
