Randomized gamertag unintentionally inappropriate

My gamertag was recently force reset on February 17th, 2014. The new randomized gamertag I was given is inherently sexual in nature.

The terms of use/code of conduct were updated a while ago. Within that change was this

A violation of the Microsoft Code of Conduct may be cause for these or other actions:

Automatic assignment of a new Gamertag, if you create an inappropriate Gamertag.

In other words if you get a forced name change your are given a gamertag at random. If you wish to change from that gamertag you will need to pay the fee.

 

If sadistic cub is the tag in question, I do not see anything sexual in nature. It used to be that if you received a FNC you were able to change it to what you wanted free. Those days are gone, so if you do not like the new name you will have to pay to change
it like everybody else.

 

I agree. I see no issues with the tag you were given. However, if you decide that you do not like the tag and wish to remove it then you'll need to pay the $10 charge to do so.

 

It is indeed offensive.

It´s the derivation pleasure as a result of inflicting pain, cruelty, degradation, humiliation, or watching such behaviors inflicted on others.

That´s offensive to me.

 

Being offensive to some individuals is not necessarily the same as being in violation of the Code of Conduct. It's one of those "Can't please everyone" situations. Whether or not one is offended by the term "Sadistic", it still does not imply any kind
of sexual connotations, nor is it a reference to notorious individuals or organizations, illegal substances or activities, etc. My advice, Cub, if you don't feel the name suits you, get yourself a new one. And try to avoid names that would require having
the Policy & Enforcement Team do this again.

I have no problem with *** people or the BDSM community, but labeling myself as both of those things is not exactly ideal.

Sexual sadism is only one part of it, though I will admit that sadistic shouldn't be in the random dictionary. I don't think it's a name that should be bannable, but it shouldn't be auto-assigned due to its violent connotations. You'll need to take your
case to the account ban forum though, that's the only one the PET looks at, the most you can expect would be a new forced change.

 

Could you please link me to where I need to go? Because a member of Xbox support sent me to this through Chat Support. Also, it seems like your post was written before reading my most recent post.

 

The forum that the PET reads is only for finding out the reason for a ban, suspension, or forced name change. They will not address any other issue. I think the best you could do is if you feel the name is offensive is have some of your friends report it
as being such. The PET will then look at it again and determine if it is offensive.

 

You should also recognize that Cub is also what a young bear is called. Urban dictionary does not always post all pertinent info on words.

There are a lot of terms like this out there. For example, a certain 3 letter derogatory word denoting a person's sexual desires really means a bundle of sticks or cigarette.

 

You should also recognize that what you're saying is a moot point and has no relevance to this situation. If it did, what would stop someone from making their gamertag "DirtySanchez" or "CarpetMuncher." After all, they're only slang words with double meanings.

So my account get's a forced name change because the word tampon is offensive, but sadistic, aka "deriving pleasure from inflicting pain, suffering, or humiliation on others." Which in my opinion is much worse than the word tampon, is okay? Tell me why I
was even allowed to put tampon in my name in the first place if it's so offensive? Double standards. SadisticCub should get a free name change.
