Discus and support Random Xbox Updates in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; Why is it that I can be playing a game online, and out of the blue get pulled into a screen that says "It's time to update"?     Why is it that I can be playing a game online, and out of the blue get pulled into a screen that says "It's time to update"? Can't it wait until the game is over? This happens like once a week and it is really annoying both to myself and my teammates I'm
    sure. Also, it costs me a loss in the game I'm playing, not to mention it happening during competitive matches that money is involved.

    Xbox 720 release date?

    Hm, I haven't heard of that but it does sound exciting. I would like to get it for my boyfriend as soon as it comes out. I hope to hear more updates about it, especially legit updates that come from Xbox/Microsoft itself instead of just random rumors.

    Sorry to hear it. However, updates on the Xbox One are not immediate. They can be held for up to a week (I believe) before being forced. I would recommend one of two things to prevent this from happening in the future.

    1. Head to Settings and set your console to Instant On and make sure that the option to update automatically is checked. This will ensure that the console is updated during times when you are not using it.

    2. If you do not want to do option 1 then head to Settings>System on a regular basis to ensure that you do not have an update waiting.

    Are you in the preview program as I'm not aware of the Xbox One getting a software update apart from those in the program.

    Likewise. My Xbox did the same thing. Had a 1.3GB update and it power cycled and it started the Day One update. Basically it looks like this random update formatted my xbox one...
