Random Xbox live disconnects, HELP

Bridge mode has the modem/router combo act only as a modem. It will essentially turn off the wireless capabilities, and let you hook a router up to it to control the network address translation. I'm not entirely sure why they aren't working together well,
however Comcast has put out a few firmware upgrades recently. We are currently working with them to sort this situation out. Your assistance has been much appreciated while we work on this!

The reason that is is because of the firmware updates that Comcast recently has sent out to all Model # TC8305C modem/router gateways that I believe causes the issue. You can read more about it in this forum post in the Comcast forums:

In all honesty, I have no clue when Comcast decides to put out another firmware update that resolves this problem. I have talked to Comcast support and they did absolutely nothing to help me. My best advice is to either pick up another gateway model at a
nearby Comcast store or to just wait until Comcast fixes it.

 

I have had this issue with the same modem and went to comcast and switched it to a new one (same model) and still have that issue. i had a technician come out to test my internet speed to make sure it wasn't dropping or something and everything was perfect.
i have talked to both xbox live and comcast and have tried it wireless and hardwired and both have the same issue. it is so random, sometimes it happens before even joining a lobby and other times i can play for 40 min without a problem. i have also changed
ports and everything and still didn't fix it. i have noticed this on COD 2 and Advanced warfare for this issue. possibly other ones, those are the ones i play. this has been the past 3 months now and i have yet to find a fix too. i have cleared cache,
deleted profile and re downloaded it and reset network settings to factory settings and i still get it. besides changing my xbox and changing to a different brand of gateway, i feel i have tried everything and still get it. if you know of something please
let me know!

 

Hey there TallCrab48, I suggest referring to the above post by Lurid Pats. Unfortunately it is looking like a firmware issue on the hardware. I would check out what he linked and follow that!

I have played Xbox 360 since it came out, and ...

I've never had the CONNECTIVITY issues that I am currently having w/ now, COMCAST

xfinity service, via this router/modem combo, as well.

I am nervous and anxious in having to deal w/ and troubleshoot it after coming back to LIVE after a 2 yr hiatus.

I bought a Wall-Mart ed blue 360E, and love it, but cannot fully enjoy NetFlix & LIVE matchmaking currently.

I have not attempted Port-Forwarding to: 53, 80, 88, 3074 yet, tho sounds like a new model /equip is needed after weeks researching online and reading tech jargon IDN understand from lack of techiness ^_^

36 mbs and 12 download speeds. Good ping.

I am signed-off randomly yet regularly, when playing COD and watching NetFlix (my favs).

I haven't played a lot else in match-making to notice how effects other games, but it is obviously the equipment Comcast supplied and their firmware.

bTW: XBOX support during has been great as always.

 

I just talked to a guy on the Xbox live support and he said that the DLC pack exo zombies is the problem for advanced warfare kicking you offline after a few minutes of playing. You can delete the content until the problem is fixed and play the normal game
just fine, and you can redownload it again once the issue is fixed. I seen that no one on here has mentioned this so I hope it helps.

 

Follow up:

I port forwarded Technicolor gateway device, then when didn't help, DMZ mode.

Neither seemed to ultimately improve problems.

Finally: after months of random live play kicks and connection disappointments, I took router/modem combo back to Comcast locally.

I received a $5 discount on BOOST service to increase speeds.

And I got a temporary gateway device to use (which worked decent), and did not in a week get kicked off or signed off of XBOX LIVE during whole week of a lot of gaming.

Today: after a week, I received in mail a new Dual-Band router from Comcast, had a technician over, and my internet speed increased by almost FOUR times!!!!

If you use Comcast, have a gateway router/modem combo, Upgrade your device w/ company.

If the router you do use isn't fast or strong enough, buy a high-end one from Amazon or bestbuy for $100-300.

You'll all be happier with efficient Internet use.

Now: my Xbox live ran out at same time......so does anyone have a 48hr live membership to loan = LoL

It is not our connections, it is actually a problem at Microsoft's servers as per usual they shift the blame on everybody else's ISP and not themselves. To work out most problems you have to look for a catalyst (the cause of the problem) and with a catalyst
you find similarities, so in this case the similarities are XBOX LIVE, because not everybody has the same ISP or speeds either. Microsoft will always say 'Clear you cache' this isn't a fix, and they're not about to find a fix either, they would prefer the
issue to go away by itself. What I have noticed within the last few years is that each time Microsoft have an update looming, I get disconnected rather a lot, and shortly after the update has been initiated those disconnection seemingly go away. They will
never admit it, and as far as I am concerned they will never listen, I have reported the issue on numerous occasions and nobody bothers, it's still happening and there's nothing wrong with my connection, because I have tested it vigorously!! Microsoft can
forget me renewing my xbox live membership in August this year if all I'm going to have to put up with is disconnections (6 times today alone!) It's pathetic to ask for memberships fees if you can't supply what we're paying for...? Funny how I don't get disconnected
any where near as much when I'm connected on my PS3...Like I said it's Microsoft servers that are the problem, they know it, but will not do anything about it...
