    Random Shutdown during Borderlands 3, console only on 15 mins


    I'm trying to determine the next best step here.

    I had my Xbox Series X on for about 15 mins or so, was playing Borderlands 3 and it suddenly without warning shut off completely. I can't tell if it was due to a glitch on the game or if for some reason the console overheated (if it did that would be very strange given the short time the console was on)

    I can't seem to find a good next step on support so wondering what I should do next (IE should I be worried I have a defective console and get assistance or if it is the game itself that caused the issue)

    Grateful for any and all info/assistance

    Xbox one x keeps shutting down when playing new games

    Same problem has been happening to me, ever since Borderlands 3 came out, almost all game I have played have shutdown my console, it is not hot because it's been in the same spot I have had it in since I got it and it never shutdown before Borderlands
    3 only froze the games, I feel like and xbox update may be the cause of this as it has happened to many of my friends too

    In effect i think it's normal the controller blinks some times after a full shutdown but in my case when the described issue occurs the controller continues to blink during about 2 or 3 minutes after shutdown and i do not think it's normal.

    But the main trouble is the random reboot or random full shutdown when i put xbox in sleep mode. This should not happen because the instant start-up is selected in the settings...

    Both games have a known issue with causing the shutdown of the console. Not 100% sure what the status is with fixing it on Borderlands 3 but on Modern Warfare they are aware of the issue and are looking to patch the console ASAP

    Do you have an external hard drive. If so you should try moving the game to the other hard drive. Also do you have an xbox one x? Xbox one x's sometimes shut off during cutscenes and gameplay in some games like the latest call of duty, borderlands 3
    and resident evil 0. The console will think its overheated and shutdown.

    Mine is doing the same. Did you ever find a solution? I've opened a service case ...
