Random issues with xbox/xbox live out of nowhere

Hi all, hoping someone may have an idea whats going on.

Since Thursday last, my Xbox One has been going a bit crazy, have had a few problems in different areas.

To start with, My NAT type is now and always has been on Strict, i have no way of changing it but it has never given me any problems before.

The issues i have had since Thursday are,

- I can very rarely get into a party, it usually says disconnected and that its a problem with my network settings. Rarely i can get into a party but within a few minutes it just disconnects.

- Cant join any servers on battlefield 4, it comes up "you have lost connection to the session" (this has never happened before)

- When i start up some games, it occasionally signs me out and then disconnects me from live, only to reconnect instantly

- Some Apps recently are giving me the message " taken too long to start"

As i said this is all only going on since Thursday.

I have tried clearing cache and deleting then redownloading my profile but no luck.

Thank god its not my Xbox dieing lol! Same here just started 30 min ago and is all random, got a party inv I couldn't join out of nowhere... hope it cones back up

Strict nat can cause all that , what is your network setup ? (modem and router model #'s )

 

cheers for the reply, i actually use my mobile hotspot. i know its not the greatest idea but its faster than any broadband i can get plus its completely unlimited data. As for the strict NAT. its just strange that it hasn't caused me any problems in the
year that iv been using it and then all of a sudden all of these problems pop up

 

Try performing a hard reset like this to see if it helps the issue any. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord
back in and restart the console. Once it is back up and operational test the results.

Cheers Genesis1953, tried that but still no luck. i have just noticed that if i go into the latest update status in settings, it says update pending, but says no update available. could this pending update cause any of these issues?

 

Hey there GW BLAZE IT,

Using a Mobile Hotspot isn't really recommended as they're very unpredictable and not easily to change settings to open the NAT unfortunately. You're going to need to speak with the provider to look into ways to open the NAT and to really see if it's possible.

 

The mobile hotspot IS your problem, they are highly unreliable. A hard wired connection from a router with a minimum of 3mb up and download speed is recommended. My NAT is always strict, but is acceptable, and has never caused me any problems. A high speed
wired internet connection will resolve your problems, until then your mobile hotspot will continue to be problematic. hope this helps.

 

Cheers for the info guys. I have always used my hotspot (for the past year) and it never gave me any trouble until thursday. I get 10mb download and 2mb upload with it, as with broadband in this area i only get 1mb download. It seems to have fixed itself
for now anyways, came online today and can join games and parties without hassle.
