Random Gamertag Change (spoke to microsoft support)

Hi

So i went to sign in this morning on my 360 and it said to me that i had to redownload my account. When i did i had a completely different gamertag. I did NOT change it.

I spoke to a man named Jeremy from support over the chat and he said that the previous gamertag of 'PoonSlayer113' was fine and was not the result of a forced name change. He also mentioned it may have been due to reports from other players so they then changed
it due to them.

Jeremy said to come here and post so that my thread my be reviewed and that i am able to change my name from the automated 'slickfoal144438' for free and not have to pay the 10 dollars to change something that was not because of my own doing.

ENFORCEMENT: Forced Gamertag change.

I think the Support members you spoke to were referring more to the fact that the only other way to get a gamertag change aside from paying for it was to have it reported and deemed against the CoC by Enforcement.

Because your name does not violate the Code of Conduct, there's no way you would be forced to change your Gamertag. Plus, even if you were, Enforcement generates a random gamertag for you, which, once again, you would have to pay to have changed.

 

Problem !

Microsoft don't change gamertags for free, unfortunately. You'll have to buy two more gamertag changes: one random and then the correct one, since Zeynox and ZeynoX is the same in the system.

 

Sorry, but support gave you incorrect information. Your previous tag was in violation of the code of conduct so the enforcement team issued a forced name change. You will have to pay in order to change it.

While the Gamertag that was forced to a randomly generated gamertag. The mentioned previous gamertag has sexual reference to it. And the Agent on chat should know this. The Agent on chat should not also advise to try get a free gamertag change. You will
unfotauntely have to pay the $10 fee, and although it's not the information you want to see, it's the information that is correct. There have been a lot of people in your situation who come on here too to express their frustration with having their Gamertag
name suspended.

There will be no appeals to the suspension of the Gamertag name, but you are welcome to find out why it was changed by visiting the Enforcement Forums.

It only takes one complaint to bring it to the attention to the Enforcement Team. And unfortauntely I can see for myself that it isn't really appropriate for younger players. At this time all I can suggest is to review the Code of Conduct at:

Please remember that no one else on this forum will have the ability th lift suspensions on Gamertags and once they have banned they will never get unbanned. Best option is to just pay the $10 fee and change it to one that won't be at risk of getting banned.
Unfortuantely the decision of the Enforcement Team is always final.
