If you were to go to your nephew's house and set his console as your Home console, he will be able to play your games when you leave. When you're back home at your console, only you would be able to play your games while you're signed in.

Yes, he can. If you set his console as your Home console, he will still be able to play your content while you're playing on another console. But you would have to be signed in in order to play your content on any other console except his.

No. You don't have to be signed into multiple consoles. You can't be signed into multiple consoles. Since his console would be set as your Home console, he can play whether you're signed in or not.

^^ Umm, I don't think the sharing system was set up for things like "license sharing buddies". I'd watch what you're doing.

When you purchase a game, you get 2 licenses

-One license is attached to your "Home" console. Anyone can sign in and play your purchased game on this console. (Even if you are not signed on to it)

-One license is attached to your gamertag. You can play your purchased game on any console as long as you are signed on with the gamertag that purchased the game. (Even if it's not your home console)

Example: I buy a digital copy of the Witcher 3

My "Home" console is in my living room, but I have another console upstairs

-I can play the witcher 3 upstairs, and at the same time, my son can play it in the living room

-I can play the witcher 3 in the living room, but my son cannot play it upstairs as there would be no license for him in this case.

Ok so if that's the case why did it happen to my mate who bought the day one edition and nobody else has touched it? We have also established that it was a new gold member he was playing with the night before he was playing with and whatever they installed
on their xbox got transferred to his Xbox for download too. So how do I set this up as a ring with my friends so we all buy a game and share it amongst us all?

Are you game sharing with each other? If so its likely downloading your games on the other persons xbox.
