Random disconnects on game start.

My problem is that if I’m playing a game from the DVD drive, most of the time it will disconnect me from Xbox live for a few seconds, not load the game, and then immediately reconnect to Xbox live. I will have to try to start the game many times,
before it finally starts the game. After it connects, it works flawlessly until the console is restarted.

How many consoles do you have connected to this router? One

Wired or wireless (for each console): Wired, but I had the same problem with wireless

If Wireless, are you using a white or black external adapter, or an internal (Xbox 360S) adapter? Internal

Things you have tried:

Is UPnP Enabled? Yes/no/Unknown Unknown. I do have Xbox on static IP with DMZ.

Do you have a NAT error? If so, what is your NAT type? No

Any Error Codes you encounter: None

Who is your ISP(Internet Service Provider)? Wow. ~20Mbs down, 3Mbs up.

After you run "Test Xbox LIVE connection" press “Y” for "More Info”. In the pop-up that appears, what are the following values, if shown? (If a value below does not appear for you, just leave it blank.)

Would you say all of your disc-based games are affected by the same symptom (disconnect you from Live for a few seconds)? If so, are these games installed on your console's HDD?

What about those games you have downloaded from Xbox Marketplace (digital), are those games affected as well (that is if you have any digital copies).

Can you please post up any troubleshooting steps you have tried so far, so we don't provide solutions that you have already tried.

All disc games are affected by this symptom. They are not installed on the HDD.

Downloaded games are not affected and work fine.

I have tried all the steps in the xbox live connection troubleshooting: clearing cache, logging out and downloading profile, network steps, etc. with no improvement.

 

How is your Xbox positioned, vertical, or horizontal?

Can you remove a portion of the current system update and reinstall the update, but Before you proceed, delete your profile (Delete Profile Only) and redownload your profile from Live.

Delete Xbox LIVE profile safely

Before you delete your profile you have to know the username and password for your Microsoft account that is associated with your profile.

1. Go to Settings, and then select System.
2. Select Storage.
3. Select All Devices.
4. Select Gamer Profiles.
5. Select the gamertag that you want to delete.
6. Select Delete.
7. Select Delete Profile Only. This deletes the profile but leaves saved games and achievements.
   

Download your profile from Live.

Delete system update

Go to System Settings and select storage.

On your controller, press the following button sequence:

Press the left bumper.

Press the right bumper.

Press the X button.

Press the left bumper.

Press the right bumper.

Press the X button.

It is positioned horizontally. It is on a shelf with about 10 inches of air above it, and is not enclosed.

I have followed your directions above exactly and it is still doing the same thing.

 

Try install one of your disc-based games onto your console's HDD, and let me know If the problem persists.

 

Yes, the problem still exists. You know how when you put a game in, that it says the game name in the "home" area? It doesn't do that. It won't show the name until after I've finally got it to work by retrying the game over and over. When I try to play the
game from the HDD, it thinks the disc isn't in there. Sometimes it says the disc is unreadable. Most of the time it logs out of xbox live and logs back in. It even does this with new discs, and once it works, it works fine. This is driving me crazy.

 

I would say your console are in need for a repair, and I don't think this can be resolved from your end.

My recommendation is that you send your console in for a repair.
