Random disconnects from Netflix on XBox Live

I know that lots of other folks have this problem but I wanted to start from scratch.

I get random disconnects from Netflix - and I mean mostly when watching movies. It seems very random and sporadic. I've called my ISP and they didn't note any issues. I've also tried deleting and reinstalling the App on XBox.

Modem is a Comtrend NexusLink 5831

Connection is wireless with full bars

If you can walk me through what else I need to do in terms of diagnostics I'd appreciate it to try and fix this.

So I have this problem EVERYDAY with my X signing out

Try to completely unplug your modem (and remove battery), wait 10 minutes, then plug everything back in again. Sometimes resetting the connection can help.

If that doesn't work go to a Windows computer and follow these instructions:

1. Press Windows Key+R

2. Type cmd.exe

3. Type this (without quotes) "ping 69.53.236.17"

4. Watch it complete and type the results in here. I want to see how your connection is to Netflix servers.

 

After running the ping I got the following: bytes=32 time=106ms TTL=237. Time ranged from 103-106ms. 0% loss.

I did the modem reset in the past and didn't find that it helped. I'll try to wait 10 minutes and see if that makes a difference.

 

So I ran netflix and it didn't disconnect, but I did get a very long buffer at one point and it asked if I was still connected to the internet. I checked and I was. I was able to get netflix back on track again eventually.

 

And today I had the same issue disconnecting. I watched a TV episode with no problem but when I switched to a movie it went down after about 10 minutes with the "disconnected from XBox Live" message. When I go to sign back in nothing happens. I have to exit
Netflix and restart it.

 

Well after trying everything except reformatting my XBox and trying from scratch I have had absolutely no resolution to this issue. The silence from Microsoft's support is deafening. XBox Live is a joke. I give up.
