Random disconnections from xbox live - FIFA

Hi guys, I'm having some really annoying issues with my xbox 360 randomly disconnecting from live during games of fifa or when using netflix (and sometimes when I'm just on the dashboard).

Its a wired connection and theres another xbox in the house which is also wired (and never has these disconnection issues). I have tried the following multiple times but still no avail:

1. Cleared the system cache

2. Redownloaded my profile

3. Put my xbox into the DMZ/Enabled UPNP/ Forwarded the relevant ports

4. Reset the router/xbox

5. Gave the xbox a static IP address



I really don't know what to do, my brothers xbox is fine and i've just shelled out £30 for a years worth of live and I can't even finish a game of FIFA without worrying about it disconnecting on me. Its also worth noting that it will re-connect straight
away usually and there is no drop in connection for anything else on my wifi network. If someone could please help me this would be great and I've been in numerous chats/support phone calls and none of it has helped.

So I have this problem EVERYDAY with my X signing out

Try looking for any corrupted game saves.

Select settings, System, and then Storage.

Select the storage location, and then press the A button.

Select Games and Apps, and then press the A button.

Select the game, and then press the A button.

also do this for profiles if that did not work leave a reply and we can look for more solutions.

Since you're connecting more then one Xbox to the same router Internet connection, you'll have a port competition for Xbox traffic. In this scenario, you can't configure static NAT, to favor one console from the other.

Not many end-user NAT devices/routers cannot handle multiple console support with an open NAT/full cone NAT/Endpoint-indepedent mapping.

UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) is the only feature (on your router) that support such a set up, depending on how well-behaved UPnP implementation works on your router.

Restore both console's network settings to factory defaults and have each console's network settings set to obtain IP configuration from the DHCP server (Automatic).

Press "B" on your controller and select Test Xbox LIVE Connection.

Disable Port Forwarding and DMZ and make sure these entries are cleared. Save/Apply.

Disable UPnP. Save/Apply and reboot your gateway.

Enable UPnP. Save/Apply.

Go to 'Advanced Settings' and select respectively console to have, 'Always use this IP address'. Save/Apply and reboot.

Post back and let us know how that goes.

Did everything you said and its seemed ok for a few days, however today despite only my xbox being on its started disconnecting me and kicking me from live again for no apparent reason. Getting really fed up of this as it doesn't happen whatsoever on my
brothers xbox, seems like I'm wasting my xbox live subscription!

I've made a (not very exciting) video to show whats its now doing, I'm not even on a game or app!

 

I'm having the exact same problem after updating my system. I walked through 4 hours of troubleshooting (each xbox rep said the last one didn't know what they were doing) and they decided ALL OF CABLE ONE is the problem. Right, pure coincidence that it
immediately followed the update and I suppose I am the only one with cable one and an xbox in my area?

 

@T4NGO - Could you try the procedure were you disable UPnP and reboot your gateway and once again, enable UPnP (as per my previous post).

Let me know for how long you're able to stay connected, without any connectivity issues, after you've performed this procedure.

Have each console been configured to 'Always use this IP address'? If so, can you make sure each console's IP address match the current one, assigned under 'Always use this IP address'.

 

i've just done what you've suggested again and its kicking me off straight away again. ridiculous!

 

My firm belief is that your router/NAT doesn't have the knowledge to handle you and your brother's console's simultaneously, for Xbox traffic.

You have to keep in mind that even if you and your brother don't use your console's at the same time, the duration of each session between each individual endpoint (IP address, Port number) might still be active in the Portmap table of your router.

My firm belief is that even if you try reset your gateway to factory defaults (flush all the tables), you'll wind up (eventually) with NAT issues.

The cure is to consult with your ISP and ask them for the possibility to put the Home Hub 3 in bridge mode. In this mode, you'll have your gateway operating as a standard modem, without NAT/router interference. You can then have your own choice of router
that are known to support multiple console support.

This is a list of router's with well known issues, but also, which ones that do support multiple console support. Make your way through the best known brands (D-Link, Netgear,
Linksys) and select Multiple console support, for more information.
