    Random Controller Inputs


    I've had my Xbox X series since April 2021 and have had no problems untill recently. I recently purchased Xbox Elite Series 2 Controller, after a couple of weeks I started getting random inputs form the controller ie press 'X' and Right Trigger activates (Right Trigger is weapon fire so very noticeable when it activates). This would happen sporadically and would happen on multiple games (Halo Infinite and Warzone).

    I assumed it was a fault in the Elite controller so returned it for a replacement, while I was waiting for the replacement I went back to using original Carbon Black controller and found it started having the same problem, and when I got back the new Elite controller the problem persisted.

    So as the problem was now happening on multiple controllers (Elite Series 2 (x2) and Carbon Black) on mutiple games (Halo and Warzone) my thinking was it could only now be a fault with the Xbox itself, as it was still under warranty I've since sent back the Xbox X to the retailer and am now waiting for a replacement.

    I have now gone back to using my old Xbox One with my new Elite controller and to may complete dismay I have seen the same fault occur (press X and Right Trigger activates).

    Has anyone else encountered a problem like this.

    The scenario goes like this:

    Purchased xbox series controller;

    Connected and updated series controller on laptop;

    Attempted to play a game on laptop;

    Controller input is not present;

    In some games the controller doesn't appear in the setup;

    In some games the controller registers but the inputs are incorrect, sometimes the z-axis registers as a button (x button) and not a movement;

    Connected controller to tablet and mobile phone and controller input is fine;

    Is the problem my games or my controller firmware not syncing with the games?

    Is there a fix?
