Random Black Screen

Does anyone's X1 randomly go to a black screen? Last week I noticed while on the home screen it would go to a black screen every few minutes for about 5-10 seconds each time. Last night for the first time it started doing it while I was playing a game. There
doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason for when it does it. My X1 was purchased on launch day and has been online since Christmas Day. The controllers have been updated and I've done a hard reset on my X1 not to mention resetting the X1 to factory defaults
several times also. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I'm sorry to hear that.

This is regarding a random disconnect between the HDMI and xbox though. All my games and apps load fine. It's a risk we all take buying new consoles. I should have waited till spring but it is what it is.

When playing Modern Warfare remastered the entire screen shut off on me. I unplugged the HDMI cable and plugged it back in and the screen came back on. Anyone experience this issue before?

 

Have you tried a different HDMI cable by chance to rule that out? It sounds like a possible sync issue between the console and display device, have never experienced this myself so taking a guess based on your description. Starting there would be worth
a try if you haven't already, rule out the smaller things first.

Exactly same Issue here. I trying to get a solution since December. I will also try another HDMI cable.

 

Make sure HDMI is securely seated. Try another HDMI cable. Some HDMI cables do not have a deep socket to them, look at the original X1 HDMI for reference, or best use that if you can. Make sure all components have there newest firmware updates.

 

I haven't switched the cables out yet but I used Amazon basics HDMI cable for last gen so I'll dig those out of my spare cables bag and give them a shot. It's funny, I guess because HDMI cables come with the systems now I didn't even think about troubleshooting
the cables. I hope I just have a bad HDMI cable.

 

I'm using the original xb1

 

I'm usin the original xb1 hdmi. The during is felt 1-2 seconds blackscreen and similar start but during a little bit longer the audio is muted for 2-3 seconds...

 

My screen blacked out last night while playing Forza so I switched out the HDMI cable and was able to game for another hour without a black screen. Hopefully that is a permanent fix. I'm hoping to game tonight for a few hours tonight to know for sure. Thanks
