Raise the character limit back to 15 or over.

So I am not the first and probably not the last, I've made a great mistake which has effected my xbox life, so I had a good original gamertag for 7 years that me and my friends loved, but when xbox gave a free change, I was not in the right mind and stupidly
changed my gamertag to something I don't like, disregarding that if I changed it, I can never get it back, so I kinda liked it for about 1 week then I started to hate it, I tried to change it back but realised the character limit to 12 and mine was 15, so
I felt really sad and wanted to change it to something I liked, I tried 5 different gamertags (which was £40) but nothing can change my old gamertag, I see lots of great names with 15 characters in them, and you now feel so limited to a good unique gamertag,
since it has to be 12 characters or under so theirs less possibility's. The # was good but why raise the character limit to 12.

So I am sad about my gamertag now and I understand that it was completely my fault but I've seen lots of other people do the exact same mistake. The way I would of executed this update was that if the tag was taken, is would have to be 12 characters or less
to have room for the suffixes, but if it is not taken then it can be 15 characters long, I don't think it would kill you to add 3 characters to the total character limit, that would be the best not just for me but for a lot of people I've seen done the same
thing.

But it's... I don't want to lose my old gamertag and 12 characters for a whole console account is just ridiculous. Like many others I wasn't thinking at the time when I changed it so now I and many gamers have gamertags we despise, if what your saying
is going to be true then I may as well stop playing if im not having a good time, I'm depressed, I'm sad and I'm angry at this change, and I don't want to leave xbox but if I can't even have a 15 character gamertag then that's just stupid, what I really want
to happen is when the xbox x series comes out, lots of new gamers will come to the platform and complain why they can only have 12 characters.

It is really not, now you have less posibilities with gamertags because it is 12 characters and so now everytime I think of an original gamertag its 1 or 2 or 3 characters too short, there are so many unoriginal gamertags now and I seriously need my old
15 character gamertag back.

Sorry to hear that you are going through this with the gamer tag. Unfortunately you are not the only one that is going through the 15 character to 12 character transfer for gamer tags. But, unless it causes a technical error within the XBOX software, it's
doubtful that it wont be changed back anytime soon. It was obviously changed to 12 characters for a reason and anytime a gamer tag is set up, it's always a good idea to choose your gamer tag carefully, especially after you use up your 1 free change without
the added charge.
