Rainbow 6 and DDossers

I have gone over quite a few posts now looking for someone to give me an answer as to what i should do about the CONSTANT DDOSSing that is taking place. I see responses like “contact your ISP” or “reset your internet.”

Those aren’t permanent fixes nor do they even help sometimes.

Last night I had to reset my internet midgame and ended up suffering a 30 minute ban on top of a loss that may not have even happened if someone on the other team wasn’t blatantly cheating. How is that even fair?

My friend is literally suffering from a ban right now because of it.

I fully understand that IPs are public.

What I don’t understand is why Microsoft is allowing websites like xresolver and octosniff to even exist.

On top of that why isn’t Microsoft able to implement a way for me to hide my gamertag?

Basically. I have to go to a third party site and pay them money or sign in with my Microsoft account on said site to be able to enjoy another game and service that I ALREADY pay for.

So please. SOMEONE tell me what I should do.

First off. I never claimed to “fully” understand the internet.

Secondly. All you ambassadors keep saying common sense things like “don’t join random parties” like people are just accepting random party invites. I have not ONCE joined a party of a random party and I am still getting booted.

Clearly Microsoft can’t take the website down. However they have the means to file with the correct agencies to at least start the process.

If that didn’t work how come they can’t implement a way for players to hide their gamertags in game or something that can offer some sort of extra protection.

Also, just because you’re an amabassador doesn’t give you the right to act condescending.

Basically what you are saying is that I need to pay for a bunch of extra services and go through all of these extra hoops to enjoy a service I pay Microsoft already.

Then you dont fully understand the internet

One ms nor google nor anyone else has any say over websites except for LEA

dmca is under the perview of the DOJ it is upto your isp to get it dmcaed

HOWEVER Icann no longer controls the DNS servers

Each country has their own icann agency locally controlled

So it would only apply to us websites

So literally it is your isps job to go thru the proccess or protect you

Vpn or setting up their firewalls correctly

Or file.for a dmca take down

How does one hide your gamertag if you randomly join groups and you dont know if its someone who tracks it

Your gamertag has to be be viewable in party or game however to find it you MUST have the exact spelling

The only way you are going to get around that is latin ascent characters that requires symbols

Then said people must find the exact symbol to replicate your name

What should I do if I think I've been attacked?

If you think that your Xbox console or computer has experienced a DoS or DDoS attack, do the following:

Reset your Internet router.
Contact your ISP.
If you are certain of the identity of the DoS or DDoS attacker:
- Contact the attacker’s ISP.
- File a complaint against the player with Xbox Live. Select the "tampering" category
  on the complaint form.
Avoid that individual on Xbox Live in the future.
