Rage Quitters Issue

There needs to be something done about rage quitters. I notice that if my opponent quits before the match is over I do not get the win. But let's say if I performed the ultra and my opponent quits I get the win. I would like to see it set so
that even if the match is not yet near the end if my opponent quits I get the win. I have been in to many battles as to where I bring down one life bar on my opponents health and he/she quits on me and I don't get credited a win. That needs to change to me.

Rage quitters are gonna see that their game (pun intended) is over! Finally, this is great. I really hate it when rage quitters are everywhere. I'm just enjoying the game and then all of a sudden, they'll rage quite. Well rage quitters, it's over for you all!

 

There is no way to know if it's a legitimate DQ/DC or a rage quit therefore they can't award you a win. Plus, they aren't a fan of awarding a W to a person who hasn't actually won. Just because someone has lower health doesn't men you should win if the match
prematurely ends. I've won plenty of matches with 1% health.

 

Also once an ultra is started if opponent quits a win should be implemented once the ultra started.

[/quote] The first part of your response maybe your right. But seconds makes absolutely no sense to me what so ever. So your telling me if your winning a match and you took out a higher amount of health than your opponent and your opponent fears he or she
may not beat you and then all of a sudden he or she DC's. You shot not be given a win? I disagree on that. That to me calls for a disqualification.

 

Even if they were to take that stance they can't prove who disconnected or who quit. So on your end it could look like he RQ but on the other guys end it could look like you quit. Do you both get the W? I've seen were I was playing with a buddy in the other
room and we desynced and we were both in completely different matches and then we were disconnected. In this case the other player looked to have quit. Who would get the W then?

Bottom line, it's not as cut as dry as your think it is. This subject has been talked about ad nauseum on the DH forums and there was no clear answer.

 

I understand the frustration, as there is nothing like getting close to a win and then having it taken from you, but one of the problems with an outright assault on RQers is that many of these "ended early" fights aren't RQ's at all, but legit online problems.
Seriously, of late one out of 4 matches I play end with either me or my opponent getting desynced and or losing connection. I was playing against a Rank 39 against my Rank 16 and halfway through a hard fought match, he get desynced. You know this is happening
when you start getting slow down and broken frames. After the slow down, his play style became that of a Button Masher. I ended the match because had he lost, he would have gotten deranked. It wouldn't have been fair for me to take advantage of his desync.
He never thanked me, but I rather win an honest battle with skill versus skill rather than let broken netcode decide the match.

People that frequently RQ though will get thrown into "jail" after a certain percentage.

 

I agree. I have been branded a rage quitter many times because of legit internet issues. Unfortunately (but understandably) they don't believe me when I talk about desyncing and power outages. So a anti-rage quitter system will never really work out perfectly.
Even rage quitter lists put up by people playing won't truly work because they don't know if it was a true rage quit or a desync either.

I am fine with the current system myself. I haven't really seen all that many true rage quitters recently. This could mean that it is working, but it could mean other things as well. Rage quitters could just stop because there is something in place against
them. I think that a bigger problem than a anti-rage quitter system is just making sure that bugs like this will stop or happen much less frequently.

 

I think the solution is simple: If you disconnect while you are losing the fight, you get a loss.

If you were disconnected legitimately, bad luck.

It's one of those situations of "free a potential guilty, or jail a potential innocent". Except this is just a game.

 

It's been an epidemic that has plagued the game since launch, and subject of many discussions at the old DH forums. It lead to the introduction of the broken "Jail" system, which doesn't work.

A very sensible solution was proposed there, which I hope IG will consider. It's apparently very difficult to tell who left the game, but a simple way around this would be to have a screen come up and say "are you still there? Press A" sent to both parties
immediately after the match disconnect.

If there had been a disconnect and both were still in the software then both would press a and neither would get a win. As it would be sent immediately at the point of disconnect, if someone had gone to dash or turned their console off to avoid the loss
- even if they tried to go right back in - they'd not receive the message.

The server would only get one response, and the person who was quit on would get the win.

Simple. Hope IG do it.

 

Even that isn't simple since if they turn console back on straight away they can carry on where they left off. And press the button. That doesn't stop folk from unplugging their Ethernet cord for a few secs to trigger a disconn, and then plug back in to
confirm they are still there.

This is a difficult subject, not solved with one fix.

That's not what I said. I said it would be sent at the point of disconnect. Even if they loaded the game instantly after RQing they would be too late to receive the message.

This suggestion was made by a video game programmer if I remember rightly. It wasn't just a random guess from a layman. It would work.

 

In truth, I've stopped reporting Rage Quitters (for the most part) as there are so many issues with KI's online performance (at least when I'm playing) that over half of the games I play are plagued by desyncs, slow down, and or crashes all together. Also
note, I'm not going to fault a high rank player from backing out of a fight where all we're seeing is broken frames and slow down. Once the network related issues are resolved, we should see somewhat a decrease in the Rage Quitting world.
