Racing games -- a good one to play without being online?

What's a good racing game that can be played without going up against online opponents? I was trying out a friend's xbox one over the weekend and he only had one of the Need For Speed games which required me to wait to join an online race. I would rather
simply play against the AI of the xbox one when I finally buy one (soon). Thanks for any suggestions!

PGR games are pretty good indeed, shame not many went online but the single player was great.

 

Does xbox360 need a true second screen solution?

As of yet we know nothing about this SmartGlass technology, things change from being announced to finally getting released, look at that Kinect kart racing game, originally a normal kart racing that was free. Now its a Kinect only kart racing game (and
not a good one at that)

I personally think SmartGlass has huge potential, its basically down to the developers how its going to be used.

 

Forza 6 has a pretty long career mode that's played against A.I.

Project Cars is the same & Asseto Corsa is coming out soon

I know this game was on the Xbox 360 but I heard Burnout Paradise was a great racing game.

 

All of them have AI and the only way to race all the tracks and all the cars out there is to play multible games. The difference is the options. The only game out right now with all the options such as seat adjustments FOV adjustment, dynamic weather, and
so on is project cars. With all those option there are some bugs. It does take some time to learn the game because its more on the real side and your going to have to learn about tire pressures and keeping tire temp at the right number and so on. Forza is
pretty much a jump in and play type game. There isnt anyway to adjust your seat or your FOV and things like that. The default FOV is really large and it makes the tracks have a stretched out effect to them. Some like, it some dont. I suggest you buy Project
cars, take some time to learn the game, spend sometime on the forum, which is full of WMD guys ready to help you, for it. Use the dash and spotter apps that are availible for the game. In the end its worth it. Asetta corsa isnt out yet so i cant comment on
it allthough the word is its really stripped down from the P.C version.

 

second Forza 6, or Forza Horizon 2 if you like "open world" set ups. I dunno if Midnight Club LA is making the backwards compat list yet, but if it does (or is) it's great for only 3-4 bucks when they do a sale. + it'll be the full edition, so all dlc is
included. There is an online mode, but it's pretty dead.

 

Thanks for the suggestions -- Forza Horizon 2 came with the package I just bought from Amazon, and I like it a lot. Forza 6 is on my wish list. Midnight Club LA isn't on the backwards compatible list yet, but I'll keep checking to see if/when it makes
it.

Forza 6 as many have said. If you want to try something a little different, try the Dirt Rally or WRC 5 games which are rally racing games that have a single player component.
