    Racing ettiquette

Ok while have been playing driving games since the orginal need for speed, I must admit I have not played many online races. I know its a totally different dynamic than the basic career mode and even with this drivatar system I'm not sure how it compares
in a Live race. While I never go out of my way to crash other cars I may often find myself in someones way. I'm not hardcore and into tuning and all that though I do spend some time in the paintshop. Any way the last racer I spent any serious time online was
PGR2 for the orginal Xbox. I got a few bad reports of being unsporting on my rep. Not sure if people really felt that way or just had to provide a reason to avoid me. I would always apologize for any contact that was my fault. Anyway I want to get back into
racing online more and was just wondering if there was any guidelines to running a clean race or anyone willing to help get reaquainted with online races without minding if I bump you around a bit ( unintntionally of course ).

    :)

IMHO if you aren't racing like a dou-che you are fine by me. I think most people feel that way. But of course you will have those that feel even the slightest contact is an affront to all things Holy and such. The drivatar system is awesome. Nothing beats
earning credits while you aren't playing.

But how representative of you is your drivatar? I'm at level 120 all offline so I have no idea how my drivatar behaves. Feel free to add me if you dont mind being bumped once in a while.

There are very few people out there that are clean racers. Most will bash you to get past you and bash you to stay in front of you. I'm a clean sim-like racer that never intentionally rams people and will stick to my line and often let aggressive rammers
go to avoid wipeouts (their own aggression is their downfall a few corners later)

I don't know how accurate the drivatars are, but the are more human like than the AI. For instance, you will often see drivatars taking minor shortcuts over grass and take corners a little wider than usual.

Id like to race with people who communicate in a race. Say hey I'm coming up on your right/left. That way I can

1 stay out of your way. Or

2 try to adjust my line to maintain my possition and avoid collision.

I just want to get better and thats hard to do when getting bounced around a lot.

I think its more fun to have a good tight race than have someone get so far ahead that the people in the back cant even finish. Im an Ok racer I think so its only happened to me a few times. Most times I'm in the midddle of the pack 3-8. Ive never won an
online race in a Forza game. pGR maybe, I honestly cant remember. Are there any groups or anything like this?

Ok so I just started the Rclass series in career mode. Im aweful.I just dont have the reaction time at that high speed and have a tendency to oversteer using a controller. Not sure if a wheel would help me here. Changing the camera from cockpit to high chase
helped reaction time but now have a problem counter steering. I try to be light on the gas and I get rammed from behind. It seems that drivatars have just as hard a time as I do. So do people actually use these cars in online races? Wheel or controller? How
do you keep it under control?

As you go up in class - your skill in controlling the throttle and brake plays a larger role in determining how well you drive. Try changing your throttle/brake application so that you are always easing into each one.

As you start to accelerate - gradually increase the throttle from 0-100%. As you start to brake - gradually increase the braking from 0-75/80% (I'm not sure you'd ever need braking over 80% unless you've gone off-line).

At first I was riding it odd and had to work some rust off from not playing a Forza in a year and to adjust to the new controller sensitivity and new tracks. After some time playing now, it feels as normal as ever.
