R.I.P. Irrational Games

They're all good games. But I haven't been blown away since the first one. Still, sucks to see talented developers out of work.

 

Bioshock 1 was great and made me buy Bioshock 2, Bioshock 2 was mediocre and stopped me from buying Infanite, make of that what you will...

 

^ You have PS+ right? Infinite is currently free.

 

Nope, I don't have or need PS+, I like my games disc based I'm afraid, I only download when I can't get the disc brand new, I am sad like that, I am silly really because PS+ Is extremely good value for money, but my OCD is strong...

 

Sad, hopefully Levine's new project at Take-Two spawns some good, fresh content. I was amazed at Infinite but it didn't leave the same lasting impression Bioshock did for its immersion and story, nor Bioshock 2 for its insanely fun gameplay.

 

Ken Levine is a *** ***. I wish that those developers he chooses to stay would've told him no.

I hope he never finds success again.

 

I used to like 2K but they turned into an EA clone so I now treat them the same as EA and avoid their games, depriving them of revenue is the only way greedy companies learn to respect their customers, if more people did the same we could tame more companies
more quickly, then the world could be a slightly better place, and no I am not an idealist, it works...

 

This almost made me cry today. Coupled with Tomb Raider, The Last of Us and GTAV, BioShock Infinite was the swan song of this generation and my favorite game in the series story wise. I wish him luck with whatever he is doing now.

 

It's sad to see all these great devs get laid off, but it sounds like the entire industry is more than willing to pick every last one of them up. However, being a huge FPS fan it's painful to watch this all happen considering what these guys did for the
genre.. I was eagerly anticipating some new, next gen ip from them that would amaze me the way the original Bioshock did and now that'll never happen.

 

Obligatory post about used games and inflated game sales expectations.

 

Bioshock 1 was amazing, 2 and Infinite were complete crap.

 

Bioshock 2's Minerva's Den is one greatest dlc's ever imo.

 

I never played the original BioShock but I played 2 and Infinite and they were both amazing imo. Got 2 for 10 and Infinite for free(No PS+) Ain't nobody got time fo dat. I heard about Minerva's Den being really really good but I never got around to it. Maybe
when it goes on sale as part of a 2K sale cuz those always happen. The current sales are tempting but meh. Backlog first!

 

This sucks, but I can't help but feel Levine is a utter bag ***. He's ultimately put loads of people out of work becuase he wanted to. Why didn't he just start up his own new team and leave Irrational to their own business?
