Quick resume rarely works after powering off the console.

I’ve been consciously making sure that I back out without exiting the games and not playing a lot of other games in between to bump games out of the cache yet the majority of the time when I power the system back on and try to resume it just loads the games from scratch. Occasionally it works but it’s kind of rare overall.

This behaviour occurs with most games including the ones Ive been playing the most consistently like with my whole play though of cyberpunk and it’s doing the same thing as I’m playing Immortals: FR.
It works pretty reliably when switching between games while the system is on but turning it off seems to clear the quick resume memory most of the time.

    Instant on, game resume

I'm having the same problem and it's really starting to frustrate me! I have tried it with dead rising 3 and rayman, both on disc and the games won't resume quickly after powering off but when I tried it with Forza which I have digitally, that quickly resumed
after powering off, I'm not sure if it just disc based games that are having the issues with quick resume. Also everything worked fine before the update!

FIFA 14: Unable to connect to EA Servers after resuming game after an App (e.g. Netflix) - Press RS to connect.

yes every time i resume the console.

my fix which is ridiculous is to start an other app before i power off the console. so fifa is not running when i power of as i still cannot work out how else to close the application apart from start onther.

then when it resumes (the next day etc) i can go straight back to fifa and it will load normally and work with no issues. If i leave fifa open i have to power down (fully power off) and restart before i can get it to connect to ea servers and start playing.
which defeats the quick resume mode??

    Quick resume

Hello, begsback. Thanks for reaching out! My name is Lucas, and I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user just like you. I'll be happy to assist you today.

You can try to remove games from the quick resume feature. To not use quick resume when on standby:

    - Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.

    - Select System > Settings > Power & startup > Power mode & startup.

    - Under Quick resume, toggle the setting to Off.

To remove games from the quick resume:

    - First, click on the Xbox button on your Controller, then “My games & apps”.

    - You will locate the list of games that are currently used in the feature Quick Resume.

    - Head to the game with the quick resume saved states that you are looking to remove.

    - In the highlighted game on your controller hit the Menu button (a small button with the 3 horizontal lines icon) to open up the pop-up menu.

    - Now in your pop-up menu, click on “Remove from Quick Resume”.

If you want to submit a feedback for the Xbox team to remove the quick resume feature or to have an option to complete turn it off, please use the Feedback Hub app. It is currently the best choice available for us players. Here on the community forum we are only users. We do not work for Xbox.

If you have any question, please let me know.

Xbox 360 games won't start on Xbox Series S

    Hello [ Daniel ],

Thank you for reaching out to us about your issue!

After investigating, I have two possible solutions for you but first, I recommend power cycling your console and resetting its power supply. You can do that by holding the power button on the console for ten seconds, then unplugging the console from power for ten seconds before turning it back on.

    1. Are you an Xbox Insider and if so, have you tried opting out and then restoring the console to its defaults?

    2. Have you tried clearing your Quick Resume queue? You can do that by following the steps below:

    • Press the "Nexus" button (the Xbox button) on your Xbox controller
    • Select "My Games & Apps"
You should see a section with a drop-down menu titled "Quick Resume", select it.
    • Hover over each game listed and press the "Menu" button
    • Select "Remove from Quick Resume" option listed for each title in your Quick resume queue.
Once you've finished clearing the queue, I recommend trying to power cycle your console and reset its power supply again.
