Quick question about getting an out of warranty opened xbox one s sent in for repair.

I had a one s in the box that I had gotten almost 2 chrismas ago as a gift. But took it out of the box last november & recently the disc drive went out but an employee at my local gamestop told me to check out a local place that could replace my disc drive.

I let them replace it & got it back in a week it seemed to be working but recently the newly replaced bluray drive has gotten very loud, its a bit alarming also the wifi seems to be going out & the system turns right back on by itself when I turn it off
& have to turn it off again immediately.

So now that you have context, the question Im curious about is if I try to send this system in for an out of warranty repair & pay will they just ship it right back to me? Because its had the bluray drive replaced & clearly been opened by someone to repair
it?

Once the console has been opened Microsoft will no longer repair it due to suspected tampering.

Just found out my xbox one s is now out of warranty because I sent it for a repair... cannot believe i’m seeing this!

If your console is an Xbox one and is in warranty, you can try and get a repair if the above suggestions do not work. If it is out of warranty then we no longer support repairs for out of warranty Xbox 360 or Xbox one. If it is an Xbox one S, X you can still
get an out of warranty repair. You can set these up at
device support.

Could be any one of a number of different issues from overheating to an HDMI port fault, the only thing we can really do is suggest checking out www.support.xbox.com if it's still under warranty and see about getting it sent for repair, if it's not under
warranty then I'd probably be suggesting getting a new Xbox.

Hi,

Yes Microsoft still accepts original Xbox 360's for repair. However, the Xbox 360 console you get back might not be the same one you sent in which means you might not end up with the same Halo 3 console you sent in.

At this point you'd be out of a warranty which means that you'd need to pay $99 for the out of warranty repair service. I would honestly suggest against it at this time, I would just get a new console which is going to be cooler, quieter, and faster.
