  1. Questions about Xbox 360 E Video Output

Hello there. My television doesn't use HDMI and my Xbox 360 E sucks without HD. Since there is bad response time and grainy images and a ton of ghosting, I'm wondering if there are any good alternatives.

I can't really find anything on the web, so if anything I'm just looking for something to make the image quality better on the console. I know the standard component cable only outputs in 480i, so is there anything that allows it to go up to 480p/720p? I
own one of those HDTVs that don't use HDMI as I've said before and using my 360 on it is just sucky.

Also, this is not another question about response time, so I don't mean to look like I'm double posting again. Thanks in advance!

    :)

You said the Av out was not on Xbox 360 E when it was. AV out is component (Yellow White and Red) Which it does support.

    -

The Xbox 360 E AV out port does not support HD component (Blue Green Red and White Red) out Only

    -

Only standard AV out and HDMI will output video on the Xbox 360 E

Xbox 360 E Console Questions (Video Output and Wireless)

    Hello all,

The DVD Drive on my Xbox 360 Pro console died and I replaced it this weekend with a brand new Xbox 360 E console.

This is the first time I've had an Xbox 360 with an HDMI out, and of course there's a few extra video options available to me now:

    - Reference Levels

    - HDMI Colour Space

Can someone explain to me what these are and when you'd want to adjust them? I've left my Reference Level at "Standard" and my HDMI Colour Space at "Auto."

Also, my Xbox 360 Pro console was connected via the official Wireless Networking Adapter. My wireless modem is upstairs in another room and I always got 3 out of 4 bars for connectivity, which wasn't bad at all given the distance. With the Xbox 360 E's
built in wireless though, and no antenea to adjust, I'm getting 2 bars, so 50% signal strength.

Does anyone know if the old Wireless Networking Adapter still works with the E model consoles, and if I can use it to try to boost the signal picked up?

    Thanks!

  4. Questions about Xbox 360 E Video Output

    Hi hylianhero72,

Unfortunately you cannot convert any analog or standard definition (RCA) connections to HDMI in respects to upgrades in the quality of the image. If you would like a HD output, you would need to have a HDMI ready TV with a HDMI connection to your Xbox 360.

Since the E model does not support Component video or VGA video out of the video port (i.e. no cables made for it like the original and S models), you would need to get a HDMI converter. I use one that is HDMI to VGA on my Xbox One to my projector. If your
TV does not have HDMI, then it would need component or VGA inputs in order to receive a HD signal. If you TV does not have those inputs, then you will need to upgrade your TV.

Also I should point out that the included video RCA cable included with the console is a composite cable, not component. Component cables are analog HD cables with the signal split into red, green and blue with each lead colored appropriately. What you
referred to as component is in fact a composite cable.

Xbox 360 E Console Questions (Video Output and Wireless)

After doing a bit of Internet searching here is what I came up with:

Reference Level: refers to the range of colors you can display

standard being the limited range of 16-235

expanded being the full range of 0-255

Color Space: determines if the display outputs in RGB or YCbCr.

For color space, just leave that to auto, and reference level you can change it and see if you get better picture quality with one setting over the other.

As for the the wireless problem, I don't think you can use the old adapter to try and boost the signal. Only thing I can suggest for that is to try and get your xbox closer to your wireless router.
