Mods ingame... you mean the ones you can purchase for vehicles and weapons?

was that your question? because those are also considered legal mods.

in saints row im talking about the ones like unlimited ammo, no reloading, infinite health, all guns upgraded and cars upgraded, and the big spaceship thing. those are the ones that you eventually unlock, but if you punch in the cheat code, you get them
quicker. the only problem with getting them with the cheat codes is not getting the achievements for anything you do with them being active.

 

Those aren't mods though, rather unlockables which technically aren't the same thing. You're correct though about unlocking them via the phone disables earning cheats (think I made mention of that earlier but w/e).

Also the best part about unlocking them, is when you join another person's game, they don't interfere with the other player's ability to earn achievements.

 

the reason I call them legal mods is because yes, in saints row 3, they are considered mods is because if you unlock them in the game, they would be mostly considered unlockables because you unlocked them legally, not by hacking the game. and then you have
your cheat codes of course, that you can enter into the game, to unlock certain or all unlockables. which would still be considered unlockable because you would have unlocked them eventually because it was in the game to unlock to begin with. but at the same
time, if you are unlocking say a new engine in a mod shop to add to a car, you are unlocking a legal mod that the developers wanted you to be able to use in the game. now if you were not meant to fly in the game, and theres no cheat codes for it, but you hack
the game to do it, that is a illegal mod because it was never something you could have done legally to fly. in gta 5, god mod, having nos on cars, and stealing peoples money are considered illegal mods because that's not something that is in the game you should
be able to do legally.

cheats are not illegal mods, but you don't get achievements when using them, but you can still use them mostly in SP mode. using them in a game that it was not meant to, it would be considered hacking because your adding the mod to the online mode illegally.

 

but ya need the cheats in SR as there is no end to the battles, just more and more gang members show up.

 

While that is correct, the results remain the same. if you want to unlock them without the cheat codes you can by simply playing the game, but if you don't, you have the cheat codes, either way, it is still a legal mod because your not hacking the game to
get those mods

 

@Z4ZonE : But they aren't mods technically speaking as they are already part of the game and are classified as unlockables. It's a reward for completing a set task. A mod is altering the game without permission of the developer (For example all of the mods
for games like Skyrim and such).

Putting into the game vehicles like the Batmobile, Ecto-1, Delorean, General Lee or the ability to fly without being in a helicopter/plane, etc etc... Mods which alter the games physics and such... those I classify as mods as (like I said) they aren't endorsed,
for lack of a better word, or put into the game by the developer.

Like I said in a earlier posts, using cheats etc in a SP game... go ahead. You aren't affecting anyone else's gameplay or ability to earn/unlock achievements. Conversely, using them in a Online game though, WILL affect others gameplay... and those are the
ones I frown upon and will report (same with RMT... which ruins a game's economy, but that's another barrel of fish).
