Question to those with the Kinectless version/who don't use Kinect

@throaty - you can set it up however you want. Auto sign in with or without Kinect, plus you can set it up to switch on or off whatever you want. That was one thing I loved about Kinect. Saying "Xbox on" and my TV, amp and Xbox all switch on at the same
time. I had mine setup so that when I said "Xbox off" it only switched off the Xbox.

 

Kinectless console is pointless, but thats just my opinion.

To me its worth it for just 'xbox record that' I can continue to play without any snapping rubbish

 

Kinect is worth it in my opinion. Especially if you want to as iBakez said record in game footage. It takes entirely to long to snap and get to the Game DVR and then record that. Which ultimately you choose the time, and then have to unsnap it. I do
not like Kinect based games, I have only played 2 ever and they were not very good. But the voice navigation is amazing, and convenient.

 

@ Throaty, what I meant was With Kinect it will recognise and sign in different users, that will not happen without Kinect.

 

I should've seen how this thread would turn out to be. I just wanted to know how the menus work with no Kinect and I got my answers, thanks to the people who actually paid attention to what was being asked. Like I said, I don't intent to use Kinect at all
so since it sounds like menus won't be a problem there are no reasons for me to invest on Kinect. You can keep your voice controls and stuff, I'm just happy the console wasn't completely build around that stuff and it won't take too much time to navigate the
menus and stuff.

 

Fact remains, to each their own. You may love the Kinect, you may not like it. As you no doubt notice it is split.

Fact is, One says "Xbox Go To" and you are there. The other has to navigate using there controller. In game DVR. One says, "Xbox Record That" The Other Has to hit the Xbox Jewel Button, select snap, or the "double tap to snap" wait for snap to load the
snap-able options, then navigate to game DVR, select end clip now. Press Home select unsnap then go back into the game. And hopefully you have not died 3X in a MP game while doing all of that.

But then you could have pinned your most used features. But you only get so many pins.

It is really up to you.

 

Definitely easy to navigate and use without Kinect.

You shouldn't have any problems at all.

 

You couldn't take my Kinect from me. I will never buy a version of the Xbox One that doesn't come with it.

 

I personally love mine. I can't tell you how many times I've used the voice commands. Love the facial recognition as well.

 

I have a day one (Standard) launch xbox one with kinect. I never use the Kinect to navigate menus, so yes, it is very easy to navigate with the controller itself

I have multiple users in my house so auto sign in with kinect is brilliant, especially as the others are age restricted accounts.

 

well you kinect-less folks will be happy come next update... they implemented a RECORD THAT features from smartglass.. if I am right, with no kinect you had no ability to that, right?
