Question to microsoft: what is the minimum bandwith to play xbox fitness ?

I joined xbox live gold for xbox fitness app. But now i can not run the xbox fitness app. Because the video stops all 10 seconds. I have a 3 mbit connection. Is this to less for xbox fitness ? What can i do ? Is there a disc ?

Mossa Fight 2 crashed at 17 min with unable to connect to the internet...would not resume. I restarted Xbox and Fitness and tried Mossa Power 1 it crashed saying insufficient bandwith at the 16 min mark. Future of Fitness my ***. If the future means crashing
and freezing up on every work out, I'll stick to the past.....at least my dvd workouts play all the way through.

When the video stops, does it look like it's just buffering the video?

Please head over to speedtest.net and run a speed test on your network. Once that's done, post back and let us know the exact results you're seeing (download speed, upload speed, and ping).

if i try speedtest.net from the xbox one it says 'speedtest.net requires flash'

if i do it from my ipad at the same position (on the xbox), the ipad shows 66ms ping, 2.77mbit down, 0.34mbit upload.

and yes, when the video stops there is a 'buffering circle' in the video window. no error message or similar. and it starts again after some seconds.

 

Go to Settings > Network > Detailed network statistics. Then tell me what you get.

 

Ok, i get:

Download-speed: 2.91 mbps, upload-speed: 0.53 mbps and a latency of 230ms

Nearly the same out of latency, there is a difference...

But, honestly, i do not want to know what i have. I do want to know what need to play xbox fitness without interrupts...

 

The fact you have a ping of so high and the very basic download speed of what you need for online gaming you're always going to get interruptions on your gaming experience while online.

If you're able to you really need to upgrade your internet.

 

thank you for your reply, but that does not answer my question. i know that my provider speed is bad, but it's the best i can get here. what i want to know is: what is the minimum bandwith and latency to play xbox fitness on xbox one ? is there a way to
precache the videos ? or to buy and download the videos ? may be there is another limitation, may be the server, where the xbox fitness videos are on ?

 

The comment above is not correct my neighbor and I get 1.3meg download speed (roughly 150kbps download) and it plays fine perfect in fact. BUT your ping is the issue our ping is only 60ms your ping is shockingly high. I believe fixing your ping will fix
your problem.

Well I know this is slightly unrelated but in a way it's not. I had DSL 3Mb down / 512k up and watching any XBox Live content (trailers, any featured videos) on my 360 it would buffer, constantly. But not Amazon Video or Netflix (when I had it). When
I first got the 360 it was not that way. I don't know if MS is only streaming HD now or they changed their streaming method (server, codec, whatever), but something happened. It's possible the same thing is the cause of the Fitness videos. I upgraded to
30/5 Mb cable a few months ago and don't have a problem now - Xbox videos and Fitness videos stream fine.

 

Wow those internet speeds are really bad. I have 120mb cable in the UK

 

So, i live in south west germany in a very small town. And 3mbit is all what i get with a flat rate. Not more. But its fine if its not xbox fitness. Where are the content servers for xbox fitness located ? In germany or just in seattle ?

 

I tried this out last night and I had a horrible experience. Despite having a fiber connection to my home with 170 Mbit down and 30 Mbit up. The XBOX ONE diagnostic was showing 112 mbit/sec down with about 96ms latency. I could see the video compensating
for video quality and every once in a while it would cut out of the workout completely saying I didn't have sufficient bandwidth - I have a CAT 5e cable running straight from my router to the XBOX ONE. I'm not sure if last night was a bad bandwidth night on
the XBOX LIVE network but this doesn't sit well with me at all.
