Question Regarding Season Passes on XBox 360 games

I'm not a gamer but my wife and kids are.

I have a question regarding the "Season Passes" that users can buy for various games. There's one available for the Evil Within series that I'm thinking of getting as my wife and son are both pretty much addicted.

I am wondering if I have to purchase the season pass for each user/gamer profile or will it be good for all users on the console if it's purchased? My wife is actually the primary gamer, but my account is the one with the XBox Live Gold account.

I know this may seem like a newb question or sound like a stupid one to some but cut a guy some slack. I'm a musician. Not a gamer. The only reason I even have an account is because the console was registered in my name. Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks

Season pass question

Hey everyone, just have a quick question regarding the Watch Dogs season pass. I'm really new to all this stuff and have been getting different answers so I decided to ask on the forums. (Sorry if this is in the wrong place) So I bought the Season Pass on
my Xbox One and I was wondering.. Am I required to buy the digital copy of the game for the Season Pass to work or can I still buy a physical copy?

I had the watch dogs game on xbox 360 with season pass and just upgraded watch dogs to xbox one but it's telling me to purchase the season pass again i thought season passes can be transfered over from xbox 360 to xbox one I really don't want to purchase
the season pass again.

 

Not really a n00b question at all. Even many "seasoned gamers" would have a hard time answering. And to be honest, there really isn't an answer. Here's an understanding.

While most DLC can be Shared with any Profile on that same Console, some cannot like a Season Pass. A Season Pass itself is specific permission for that one Profile the additional DLC you Download from having the Seasons Pass
may or may not be Shared. It depends on the Publisher of the Game. Some like EA will require you to DL the Content from the In-Game Store, this type may or may not Share being mostly not able to Share. Others will allow the DL from Xbox LIVE, this type most
likely will Share.

It use to be much easier in that everything went through XBL and was given Digital Rights Management in doing so. Now, EA among many others require from In-Game negating the DRM and can or won't Share.

I am thinking I may just purchase the DLC's as they are released. The savings between the season pass and the individual DLC's is only $10 so it's not like it's a large amount. I honestly don't remember who the publisher is for this game particularly.

As soon as season pass content is installed onto a console any profile can use that content for as long as the purchaser's licenses are on that console.

This has been true with every season pass I've ever purchased. Walking Dead, LA Noire, Max Payne 3, Saints Row: The Third, Saints Row IV, Injustice: Gods Among Us, others too, all of them... the most recent being Resident Evil Revelations 2.

All passes require you to download content from within the game as there's no way for the Market Place to check if you have the season pass and adjust the prices of separate content tied to the pass, whereas the game will check, and if you have it the season
content in-game will have its price changed accordingly.

It's sometimes possible to redownload season pass content you purchased in-game, later on the market place though, me thinks.

So... as long as your licenses are on the machine your wife and son use... they can play whatever you own. Get the season pass and save some cash. I can't think of a single instance where it hasn't been possible to play season pass content on a different
profile. S'just my own personal experience. {=)
