Question Regarding Dolby Vision Input Latency

It's not an issue that requires resolving. It's just a simple reminder that Dolby Vision increases input lag. If it feels like the input lag is unbearable, just disable Dolby Vision for Gaming in the video modes menu.

Vizio is working on a Firmware update for its TVs to support Dolby Vision. Microsoft uses a "low latency" version from Dolby, and TV manufacturers are scrambling to catch up. The full supported list is here:

I also have this message and had to do some digging for more information. Essentially the newest patch added this new notice with no details from Microsoft that it was added in the patch notes. From what I’ve gathered it’s simply just a notice that Dolby vision can introduce extra latency which is true in any TVs case as of 2022. I wish they would of worded it differently but no matter what Tv you have Dolby vision will always introduce some latency, the amount depends on your Tv (due to the way that it works and gets processed). However this was the case pre and post patch nothing changed it’s just the added disclaimer that they are now just sharing with the consumer. The input latency has always been more with Dolby vision as tested by many Tv review sites. I hope this helps! I wish that they would change how that’s presented cause the yellow warning sign makes you feel like a settings were changed or the patch broke something. (Just a quick edit, I’m on regular Microsoft patches not the preview program or insiders)
