  1. Question regarding Code of Conduct and Grifball

    Good afternoon.

I have a question regarding Xbox LIVE Code of Conduct, Terms of Use, and Halo: Reach Grifball.

Now in Grifball, the intended way of playing the game by the developer is to score the objective in the objective based gametype, which is to score the Grifball into the goal. Now people have been using the gametype in two ways that were not intended by
the developer to boost cR, Commedations, and Kill to Death Ratio (Statpadding).

One method people use are 'Peace Games', where people will idle in Halo: Reach Grifball for 13+ Minutes instead of playing the gametype as intended by the developer to exploit the Performance Bonus System by making the game last so long to get extra cR that
they did not earn as they were idling, not playing the game.

Another method is spawncampkilling (Not to be confused with Spawntrapping). Spawncampkilling is when a party of four or more people join up into Grifball, and exploit the poorly setup spawn points to kill the people outside the party for the entire duration
of the game to boost cR, Commedations, and Statpad. Once again clearly, not playing the game as intended by the developer, in this case to gain ingame status faster in a fashion not intended by the developer compared to playing the game as intended by the
    developer.

Spawntrapping is keeping the opposing team at their spawnpoint only for a couple of seconds in order to complete the objective of the objective based gametype, which is to score the ball.

I have argued with people over this, stating that both forms of boosting are indeed cheating as 343 Industries has shown their stance on farming and boosting with the Halo 5 Warzone Farming situation (Link)
    (Link) (Link),
    which they are clearly against.

With them against boosting and farming, I have stated that both iterations of not playing the gametype as intended is cheating and violates LIVE
    Code of Conduct:

Don’t cheat or tamper. For example, don't:

    • Exploit game vulnerabilities or glitches

    I tend to remember the
    post
on the LIVE Enforcement Team's Page:

"Cheating is using unauthorized hardware, software, or account

modifications to gain an advantage or disrupt the competitive landscape

of Xbox Live. Cheating violates the Microsoft Services Agreement and

    Code of Conduct."

Cheating includes, but isn’t limited to:

    • Unlocking achievements, prestige level, in-game ranks, or other content you didn’t actually earn.
In the case of Spawncampkilling, I have also stated that said actions is also a form of Griefing and does degrade the quality of services provided for Xbox LIVE for other people.

I tend to also remember this
    Post
on the LIVE Enforcement Team's Page:

"Harssment refers to any abusive, threatening, or bullying behavior by

one person towards another. Though it includes a wide-range of offensive

behavior and communication, all forms of harassment have the common

purpose of disrupting the gaming experience for other Xbox Live players.

Harassment violates the Microsoft Services Agreement and Code of

Conduct, and the Xbox Live Policy & Enforcement Team is strictly

opposed to harassment in all forms."

Harassment encompasses a number of situations, including, but not limited to:

[*]Verbal abuse, profanity, stalking, or griefing directed at other players

I have also proven by trying to play the objective based gametype of Grifball as intended, I am not the one 'perpetuating' these boosters to ruin more games. If I recall correctly, the LIVE
    Terms of Use states:

"Because information personal to your Xbox Live subscription will

thereafter be available to you via the Xbox Live, you are entirely

responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Microsoft

Account password and account. Furthermore, you are entirely responsible

for any and all activities that occur under your account on the Xbox

    Live.
Microsoft will not be liable for any loss that you may incur as a

result of someone else using your account, either with or without your

    knowledge."

So this in the Terms of Use would make them responsible for their actions in Boosting and hence they are at fault for violating CoC and ToU.

These boosters are using LIVE Services, hence bound to the binding agreements of ToU and CoC that they agreed to when they created their Xbox LIVE account. 343 Industries has stated that they do not support boosting and farming and have punished players
in Halo titles for doing so, and hence makes boosting in Halo titles a bannable offense if reported or caught by the automated banhammer due to players violating CoC and ToU. Also, Griefing games and intentionally degrading the quality of LIVE services for
others is also a bannable offense.

This would make them 100% responsible for their own actions in the terms of boosting as they chose to do so by free will. Now this would make said actions of theirs reportable if I am not mistaken. Would I be able to have an XBLPET verify that everything
here that I am saying is indeed correct?

    :)

As gamer all you can do is report someone you think that has breached the Code of Conduct or block that person.

Regarding your suspension seems you already are into the info so my suggestion is to get back and read the Code of Conduct regarding the report feature.

as far as im aware this is a breach of CoC and ToC as you are using a glitch or part of the game that it was not designed for and to gain personal benefit.

I wasn't asking about suspension management. It was a question regarding the code of conduct and the parameters.

Question concerning the code of conduct.

    Hey there Jasmine!

Nice to meet you! My name is Christian, an independent advisor. I'm here to help you out.

Just a friendly reminder that for enforcement actions there is a dedicated team that handles them which is the enforcement team. I’m sorry but the reason and all details are only available on your end.

The only best option is to file a case review on your suspension.

Sign in and visit the Enforcement history page.

    Enforcement history

Note If you’re a member of an Xbox family group, an organizer in your family group must sign into their Microsoft account to review your enforcement details before they can submit a case review on your behalf.

If you’re an organizer of an Xbox family group, you can choose the gamertag of the account that you’re reviewing under Viewing enforcement history for. Under Enforcement history or Active suspensions, you may find active enforcements for your account, or one that you’ve selected.

Choose an enforcement action to review more info about the cause and effect of the enforcement in the pop-up window.

If the enforcement action qualifies for case review, you can select Submit an appeal to receive more info from Xbox Safety.

After you’ve completed the form, select Submit.

And lastly, wait for the results of your appeal.

    I hope this helps.
