Question regarding 2 Xbox's in one house

Hi- long time since I've been on here, hopefully still as helpful as last time I was here.

I will soon have the Xbox one X and my son will take my Xbox one to replace his 360.

Question is, will we be able to play the same game together online (i.e. PUBG in duos) if we're both connected to the same internet?

Two Xbox's in the house...

So if I bought the game as a digital download, I would be able to play it on all consoles that I own? Seems that if I have the license on one copy, Microsoft would be able to figure out that I own it (disk in one console) and the IP address would show that
the other console is in the same place.

Two Xbox's in the house...

With discs you would need another copy in order to play it on another console. The disc has to be in the console in order to play to prove that you actually have the game and that would not be possible on a second console.

If you were to buy the game digitally, you would only have to purchase it once.

Yes, you will both be able to play together online on the same home internet connection without a problem.

If you haven't already, look into
Gold sharing features. You can set the old Xbox One as the "Home" console under your account, and just log in normally with your new Xbox One X. This way, you'll be able to play PUBG together with only one Gold subscription and one digital purchase of PUBG.

thanks. So move my existing xbox1 upstairs to his room and just sign into the new X and that should do it as long as I leave the 1 as the 'home' console?

Also, if he's wireless it should still be ok?

yes she needs her own account cause it's not possible to play on two devices with the same account at the same time.

And she sure wants to have her own achievements, avatar, Gamertag and save files etc.

1. No one knows for sure, but my thought is no. On the X1 dashboard, the last thing you've done will always be the one in the middle because essentially it's still running in the background.

2. you can use your controller, it just takes more time.

I think with the controller you need to have the DVR app snapped, and switch to it to start recording then switch back to play.
