    Question re Linking Accounts with EA and Gamertag


    Hi,

    Firstly, I'm posting to help my daughter and to be honest I don't really play the Xbox or know too much about it's processes, etc.

    The background is, that my daughter hadn't played her Xbox for many months and on Saturday when she switched it on ,she had a lot of updates to complete, etc.

    After the Xbox had completed all its updates, she tried to login to the game Apex, but was prompted that she would need to reset her password and was advised to go to EA's website.

    She couldn't remember her login and her Xbox was originally set up with my email address and when I ordered the EA Games Pass, it was via this account too.

    I populated the field with my email address (same one associated with Gamertag) and received a prompt to change it, which I done. She tried to login again, but just presented with the same message as initially received. I decided to login to EA via my laptop, with the new password and it successfully logged me in.

    After above I decided to contact EA help and chatted to an advisor, who advised the that EA account linked to my Gamertag, was different to the one I provided, (the one I logged in with).

    We then went through account verification and I provided as must information as I could, old and new, but they said they couldn't verify and there was nothing they could do.

    I appreciate customer security, but this is EA's stance and they said I couldn't play game because of this. I honestly don't know what account is linked to it, nor does my daughter.

    Do I have other options, to allow my daughter to play this game. Can I created a new Gamertag alongside my original one and link my (Known) EA to it?

    When I changed my gamertag my ea that was says it is still linked to my old gamertag.

    changing gamertag does not change it on EA, even though they are still linked, it will display as your old gamertag name, i currently have 3 gamertags linked to my ea account too.

    This is a tricky question as there are lots of messages on forums regarding this. I loooked into this for a friend who was having problems.





    The easiest way to link your gamertag is ny uploading some replay footage from Tigerwoods or anoither EA game onto their servers.

    The Next way is to create a new EA account with the same Email account that your Gamertag : Xbox Live Account is registered with.

    If these two dont work then you have to ring EA customer and hold out for a customer services Advisor and they will do it for you.

    The Add Persona on the EA profile page doesnt seem to work. Its just looping back to teh profile page instead of letting people add their xbox gamertag.

    Your XBOX Live Gamertag and EA Account should be correctly linked when you first access an EA game online. However, if the email address for your Gamertag is different than the address for your Origin account, you will require assistance to properly link
    them. This can be done by contacting an EA Game Advisor. Please include your Gamertag and the e-mail address for your EA account.

    The adviser might make you download a demo of a EA game like Madden 2013 and ask you to login there with your EA Origin account in the demo and it should successfully link your gamertag to your account.

    Thanks. I checked, the Xbox and EA accounts are linked. But the EA app does not see any subscription and offers to re-register EA Play.

    Unlinking old EA account from Xbox

    You need to contact EA support to help you unlink your xbox account from EA account.

    However keep in mind that if you unlink an Xbox gamertag from your EA Account, you can’t link a different Xbox gamertag to it in the future.
