Question on DLC material for Region Free Games

Hi there. I'm in North America and I purchased the PAL version of Dodonpachi Resurrection. This game is region free and plays on my Xbox 360. I want to know if there is a way I can purchase the Dodonpachi Resurrection DLC material (like the Black Label download)
onto my NTSC Xbox.

It seems like it would be obvious enough I wouldn't be able to download it, but then I see that there is Mushihimesama DLC available on the North America NTSC Xbox Live even though the game is Japanese Region Free. Is there a way I can download the Dodonpachi
DLC legitimately?

Remeber some games require certain region dlc like a us blackops will only support English dlc which may not be available in your region

This is true for most region locked games

Blackops is region free but dlc is restricted by language and region

 

Game regions and redeem codes

This topic is presumably about redeem codes and games and whether the redeem codes can be region-free, so I have a question about that. (XBox 360)

I know some XB360 disc-based games come with a card insert, giving download access to a free Kinect game from XBLA. My question is, if the card code was published for the Aussie marketplace, will it still work in North America, like in Canada?

I've seen some game vendors claiming that xBox DLC redemption codes for *GAMES* are region free, for example, "Works in Australia, New Zealand, U.S., U.K., and the rest of the world." I don't know whether this is true. I've been looking all over the official
MS Support site and coming up with no guidance on game redeem codes and regions. Help?

Could you provide us the full name of each of the DLC so we can narrow the choices down? That would help us find out which are available in your region!

 

I'm not quite following you there, but this is the DLC product specifically I'm referring to:

I'm also interested in being able to legitimately download games like Bullet Soul, Mushihime-sama, Espgaluda II and Mamorukun Curse! from the Japanese Games On Demand section of Xbox Live, if it were possible for me to do so.

 

Awesome, thanks for the information! Unfortunately the DLC you linked is unavailable to North America. Since you linked the game from the Great Britain locale, if we switched it to

US locale it shows unavailable. As far as purchasing games from other region's marketplaces, we don't support consoles set to a locale different than the physical location, so we cannot guarantee the quality of purchases made if this were to be done. Hope

It almost clears it up, one further question please.

When you say you cannot "guarantee" the quality of the purchases, does that mean there's a chance it COULD work, but it's just not guaranteed to work, or does that mean it wouldn't work that way at all? I'm just looking for some clarification, the wording
there seems vague to me.
