Question for all you Xbox One owners?

Some cons to the Xbox One are....

Some users have long install times.

Gamer Pictures are lacking considerably.

Sometimes the UI can start off slow. Similar to a computer waking up

 

Thanks! I don't have anyone to try it out. Only thing I can do is either rent one for $30 for a week or go to Wal-Mart. There are games I want like Sunset Overdrive, Halo, Forza, And Ryse. I would rather get Call of Duty games for Xbox too because, like
I said, I feel like it has better online. I will wait for a bit I think because there are things I want to get for my PS4 still and I would rather focus on that for now! Thanks you guys for all the help! Hope to play soon!

 

I'm really enjoying my Xbox One, but I have always loved the exclusives Xbox has, like Halo, Gears of War, Kinect Sports, Alan Wake, and more recently, Ryse, and Sunset Overdrive. I also feel like it is the better multimedia system with all of the entertainment
apps and now the blu ray.

Some of the cons I have experienced are really just having to reset it every now and then (only a handful of times for me) and Live has seemed to be down more often on the One, causing problems with your friends' list and achievements.

 

I think the number one thing for me is the games, whether that's the exclusives or not, I'm having a lot of fun with the Xbox One and at first I was sceptical that it could tear me away from the 360, but it's done just that.

A few other things I like are the controller, activity feed and leaderboards.

I dislike that everything is made up into an app which fails to load or work properly on the first try about 50% of the time, I also think this hurts the auto-on/resume feature as after I came back to my console it's like the 'apps' have frozen or timed
out so now I quit everything once I'm done using it and the console preforms much better on start-up.

 

I'm just like the OP, I never owned a xbox system and I'm so stoked to pick up one up. I'm getting it on the 1st of June, though I'm getting the One without the Kinect as I'm not interested with the Kinect. I'm enjoying all your guys insight as I want to
learn as much about this console before I pick the console up. Honestly I'll be more active on these forums once I get the system though.

My reason for picking up the console is strictly exclusives though, which hope the community isn't bothered with this as I do enjoy my ps4 too much and I honestly prefer the ds4 as I have hands on experience with the Ones controller so I know it will feel
different then what I'm used to.

I sure hope when I do pick up the One hopefully my local gamestop has the Halo Collection bundle if it is still available at the time as that will keep me busy till I can slowly build up my One game collection as the 1st title after I pick up the one is
going to be Forza Horizon 2 and of course I plan on starting off with 3 months of Gold as I'll be tight on money when I do pick up the one.

Though I do want to ask a question though for future reference, I know Sony does this, but I want to know is there a way on Microsoft's side to add a title to your library through a computer or is it strictly only on the console itself and I'm just curious
about this for Games with Gold (note: I know the Ones GAW deal is the exact same as the ps4 igc)?

I do also hope to see more of your guys insight before I pick up the console.

If you're waiting until June to pick one up, I'd honestly wait a little longer until after E3. They might announce a price drop, slim version or bundle. It's what I would do if I'd waited so long.

 

I don't have much patience so I have no plans on delaying my purchase and if I did wait the bundle would have to be a 1st party title as I am strictly getting multiplats on my preferred console of choice which is the ps4. Though also I want the Halo Collection
bundle because that will be only way I will even give it a shot as I have very little faith in 343 studios after their disappointing handling of the Master Chief Collection.

 

Why are people willing to shell oput £350 based on others opinions? Absolutely baffles me.

 

how is it baffling? people do it all the time, i frequently check Amazon and Newegg for product reviews, this is really no different, and these gamers appear to have already decided to get an X1 before even posting here and were just looking for more information.

Any downloadable game can be purchased on the Xbox.com website on your computer and will download to your console. Likewise, Xbox Live Gold members can claim the Games with Gold games on the Xbox.com website and they will download to your console.

The best part is, if your Xbox One is set to "instant-on" mode, the game will begin the downloading and installation process after you hit the purchase button on the website. I love being able to claim a Games with Gold title or buy a game during the day
and have it installed and waiting for me when I'm ready to play after I get home from work (depending on your internet speed, your experience may vary).

 

to add on to what Leo Invictus posted, you can also purchase games through SmartGlass(the smart phone app).

Its baffling as just because someone else likes it doesnt mean you will.

It's good to get feedback about a product you are thinking of buying from current users, I did the same with the current car I drive, I was then aware of an issue that my car had when I took delivery of it and able to identify that and get it sorted
by the garage, Forums are very useful for such things and it's not baffling at all to get as clued up as you can about a product you have decided to purchase. In the old days it was called market research.

 

The Op is not asking about issues he is asking for opinions on whether we like it or not.

Would you have bought said features because a mate said they 'like' it?

p.s. you bought the car even though you knew it had an issue?
