Question creating XBOX account with email address

If you want your old email address on your new account try following the steps on this page:

support.xbox.com/.../change-xbox-live-account-info

However, If I'm reading your question correctly you will need a third email to act as the go between. So you should do something like this

1)Create new email address

2)Change email address of old account to newly created email

3)Change email address of new account to the email you want to use.

Thank you so much for trying to help, I can’t create a new account with the same email address - I created a new account with a different email address so I could ask the question in this chat to see if I could solve it. I also can’t find an email address or phone number that I can contact to fix it. My poor son is so upset as he has lost all of his progress on Xbox 😢

I was able to add my children to my Xbox Live (360) account so they could create their own profiles. However, when I try to do the same thing on the Xbox One, it keeps on asking for email addresses for them.

1) They do not have email addresses

2) How can I add my children to my account on the Xbox One

3) They are too young for an email address, so this is out of the question!

the microsoft account is the email and xbox account, if your parents used their account to create your xbox account then they still own that account, changing the primary email and deleting their email address just basically means changed your parents email address and if they had used their original address to sign into other services across the net then you have just broken all of that.

as you changed the email address the email inbox will still belong to them and they will still receive emails.

you need to create your own account.

The only way to change the email address of your Microsoft Account (which your Xbox profile is associated with) is by adding an alias email to your account (a second email address to it), and then making this second email address the primary email for your Microsoft Account.

But you can't add to your Microsoft Account an alias email address that is linked to another Microsoft Account. So you have only two options:

1. If the email address you want to use is not being used by a Microsoft account, you can create a new email address to be used as an alias to change your current Microsoft Account email address. But it needs to be created on the "Add an alias" page:

- Sign in to: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=529489

- Under the Account Aliases section, select Add Email.

- Choose Create a new email address and add it as an alias, and then follow the instructions.

- After you've added the email address, verify it by clicking on the link that you'll receive on your inbox.

2. If you already have a Microsoft account with the email address you want to use with your Xbox profile, you can delete the Microsoft Account that has the email that you want to use as an alias. After you delete it, you'll need to wait 60 days for it to be removed from the Microsoft system and it'll be available to be used again. You'll need to create it on the "Create a new email address and add it as an alias" page.
