Question concerning Hellkite Dragon...

I was just wondering: is it possible to summon a phantom to assist in killing the Hellkite Dragon?? I know I can solo him, just thought it'd be fun (and we were running outta bosses =P ) Tried with a friend earlier, and couldn't even get a summon sign
to pop up... We had already done 5-6 successful summons, knocking out several bosses, and in same covenant (WoS). Didn't find anything specific on Bing/Google... so was I just wasting my time? =P Thanks!

How do I get to the sunlight alter without the hellkite dragon killing me?

No, that is the basement key. It opens up the door on the bridge where the Hellkite Dragon is that leads to Lower Undead Burg.

 

You can only summon people into your world if your boss is still alive (The Gargoyles in this case)

 

The boss for that area is the Tauros demon and the Gargoyles are for the Parish, so you need the master key to bypass the tauros demon go through the forest then kill the gargoyles, then go back and summon for the dragon then go kill the tauros demon.

 

dazrscosworth is correct, the boss for the Hellkite Dragon on the bridge is the Gargoyles. If you've killed the gargoyles you won't be able to summon anyone.

Aman3612 was at least partially correct. With the master key you can bypass fighting the Taurus Demon and go straigh to the Parish from Firelink. You either go down to Havel's area and open the door to Darkroot Basin, or you run through Valley of the Drakes
and then take the elevator up to Darkroot Basin where the bonfire is next to the Halberd Black Knight. If you do that from the start, you can run all the way to Andre and upgrade weapons right at the beginning. You can also grab the fire keeper soul and
open the shortcut from the Parish back to Firelink. It's a good way to start the game.

 

No. Helkite dragon is still in the burg, the boss for the burg is the tauros demon. The gargoyles are for the Parish, you do not need to kill them just go backwards but if the Tauros demon is dead, you cannot summon for the dragon.

 

The only way to kill the Helkite Dragon in co-op is if the Gargoyles are still alive. The only time you see the Dragon in the Undead berg is right at the start when he lands on the bridge and then fly's off.

You do bring up an interesting point though, Where Solaire stands is classed as the Undead burg. But I don't think you can summon any body if the Gargoyles are dead.

 

I've summoned people and been summoned underneath the bridge right after killing the Taurus Demon. The Gargoyles are the boss fight for the Hellkite Dragon area, not the Taurus Demon. If you don't believe me, check it out for yourself.
