I have no idea if this is the place to post this. If it isn't, could a mod lock and point me to the proper place please?

Anyhows, I'm going to sell my 360 for a One but beforehand, one thing bugs me. If I delete my profile, I'm nervous that the associated payment info would remain with the system. My question is, if I delete my profile, would the payment info be deleted as
well?

That is my first question, my second is, what should I take note of for the move (i.e. passwords and anything like that)?

Those are my two concerns, if it is in the wrong place, I apologize for I haven't been on these forums in a long time.

What data is stored with my Gamertag?

Hello,

Well a gamertag is associated with an account which includes any payment information, name, etc along with the achievements.

Go to: https://billing.microsoft.com

and log in using the Windows Live ID that's associated with your Xbox.

1. Under Your payment methods, click the payment method you want to change.

2. Under Payment method activity, click Go to payment method information.

3. Under Payment method information for this account, click Use a different payment method.

4. Click Add new credit card, and then click Next.

5. On the Confirm transfer page, confirm the balances and services you want to transfer, and then click Next.

6. Enter the information for the new payment method, and then click Save.

If nothing works contact support chat and they will see if its an issue there end

Easiest way to do it is format the hard drive. It will erase all information from the drive and will be just like someone bought a new 360.

When you buy the One- all you need to do is log-in with your current XBOX LIVE username and password and you will be good to go. Also - none of your older 360 games or content will work on the One - yet. They are adding a 360 emulator (currently in preview)
that will allow you to play your 360 content. So far only a handful of older titles are available to play.

To prevent unauthorised charges, you will need to contact the payment provider to cancel the payment methods that were associated with your account. I understand that this is not the outcome you were hoping for, but we will be here if you have any more questions or concerns.
