Question about Xbox One S HDMI in/out

    Hi all

I'm interested in getting the 500 GB model when it releases to primarily use for its 4K UHD. I bought Samsung's 4K UHD bluray a few weeks ago and I can return it if I were to buy this instead I figure why not get the Xbox if its not only $20 less than the
bluray player but it has the console on it as well. My question is about the HDMI in/out. Currently I have my cable box connected to my Bose SoundTouch 130 receiver and I have the Samsung bluray connected to HDMI 2 on my TV (because Samsung's player is HDMI
2.0 compatible and requires HDCP 2.2 which the AVR is not its only HDMI 1.4 I beleive). The bluray has an HDMI in and out (or 1 and 2) much like the Xbox One S so I connect it directly to an HDMI 2.0 port on my TV and the second HDMI connects to the AVR so
I can get LPCM 5.1 audio. I was wondering if I would be able to run the exact same configuration on the Xbox One S or would I have to use the optical cable?

Anyone have any comparisons for the Samsung UHD Bluray vs Xbox One S?

Thanks and sorry for all the questions.

    :)

  4. Question about Xbox One S HDMI in/out

    Hey there ppk87,

You'd ideally want to contact Samsung to confirm if the device would be compatible with this setup. Unfortunately we don't have specific information on that device. We'd want to make sure you'd have the best information and Samsung would be best to provide
that, unless another member of the community has a similar setup.

    No signal on TV

Hi, Praveen my name is Oskayra, and will be a pleasure help you

It's understandable that you're facing this issue with your Xbox One S console not displaying a signal on the TV in Japan. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Check the HDMI cable connection: Ensure the HDMI cable is firmly connected to both the Xbox One S and the TV. Disconnect and reconnect both ends of the cable to ensure a secure connection.

Try a different HDMI cable: If possible, try using a different HDMI cable to rule out any issues with the original cable.

Change HDMI input on the TV: Check the TV's input settings and ensure that you are on the correct HDMI input port connected to the Xbox One S.

Power cycle the Xbox One S: Turn off the Xbox One S completely by holding the power button for about 10 seconds until the console shuts down. Unplug the power cord for 30 seconds, and then plug it back in and turn on the console.

Update the Xbox One S software: Ensure that the Xbox One S is running the latest software updates. Go to Settings > System > Updates and check for any available updates.

Try different HDMI ports on the TV: If your TV has multiple HDMI ports, try connecting the Xbox One S to a different HDMI port.

Check for TV compatibility issues: Check if your TV is compatible with the resolution and refresh rate settings of the Xbox One S. You can adjust these settings in the Xbox One S's video settings.

Try a different TV: If possible, try connecting the Xbox One S to a different TV to rule out any issues with your current TV.

I hope this helps! Don't hesitate to ask if you have any further questions or need additional clarification.

Xbox one console- audio hdmi out only via seconde hdmi tv in

    Hello Proof,

Thanks for coming to the forums with your question. There is no way for audio to be sent outward through the HDMI in. There is an optical audio jack and the HDMI out.

Only other options are in the audio output settings.

    Thanks,

    Brad

Variable Refresh Rate greyed out with a AMD compatible Monitor (HP 27xq AMD FreeSync monitor)

The Xbox One X is the only console that has HDMI 2.1. Xbox One S has HDMI 2.0.
The Xbox One S and One X both use HDMI 2.0,

The Xbox One uses HDMI 1.4

The Series X will have HDMI 2.1.

HD VGA cable woes. Need some suggestions.

I really think it´s your TV.

In NO way my HDMI cable wash out the colors.

It´s the opposite and the light effects come out much better.

Maybe you don´t have a good HDMI cable or it is broke or your ports are broke?

I would always choose HDMI over VGA.

I prefer the carbon HDMI cables cause they don´t breaking that fast.

But it´s an Arcade, one of the first ones?

If so then maybe you will not get the same out of it like out of a newer Xbox.
