Question about Xbox Live Gold.

I have had Xbox live gold for roughly 8 years and always renew yearly. Recently I purchased a game that came with a 30 day Xbox live gold code. I attempted to redeem the code and got an error code, tried again and same result.

I contacted support and they informed me that I couldn't use the code because I am a current gold subscriber. I can see a 2 day or 7 day code, but a 30 day code can't be added to your account, I think thats kind of ridiculous.

Anyway, my question is if I let my gold expire to redeem this code will I lose any of my stuff(stats, payment options, tenure, etc.) ?

Hello, i have a question about xbox live gold end date. So - does xbox live gold membership ends on the midnight of the end date or the exact time you subscribed? and sorry about my english this is not my native language.

^ That's one cap I can get behind with MS / Xbox. Helps stops people jumping on the service with throw away accounts just to ruin it.

 

You won't lose anything but those codes have an expiry date too

 

Thanks for the responses. I got the game with code in december and my gold is up middle of march so hopefully it still works.

 

Or you can just anti up he $39.99 and get a year...

those codes are only for NEW accounts and even if your account lapses, I do not think you will be able to use it on your account
