    Question about System Update


    So I started download/installing Max: The Curse of Brotherhood because it's free this month. It reached 99% and said "Installation Stopped". First I thought my Internet crapped out for a second. Then it said it again when I hit "Retry". Stopped again. Then
    I read the message "You need an update.. check Settings>System to see if one is available"

    My question is.. will I have to update manually or is most updates automatic like XBOX 360?

    does the Xbox One automatically download updates for Apps/Games & the system software when it's in standby mode?

    I downloaded Max and Halo last night, then I updated this morning. Both free games downloaded 100% for me. I performed the manual update in my settings screen for my X1.

    It will update automaticly in the background when you shutdown or you can update manually in system settings.

    we have the option to do both... but you still need to accept the update if it DL automatically... (when you next sign on)

    It can auto update silently too with no intervention required at all. It even reboots to standby after updating.

    It should download system, game and app updates overnight if in Settings>Power&Startup you have it on Instant On. This is "connected standby" and it will do all your updates for you. If, however, you set it to Energy Saving, you will need to do updates manually.
