Question about sales tax?

I live in Tennessee that has a sales tax of 9.250% and am a little confused about how much tax is applied to Xbox Live orders. Is the tax rate the same regardless of the fact that its online or is it different because I'm ordering something online?

I am trying to figure out how much will be charged in total when I order a DLC that is $29.99. thanks for any help in advance.

Hello Someone,

Thanks for coming to the forums. We understand you have question regarding tax. The tax is calculated from the area/region/state you are in. So even online it would be your tax of .0925% which the total estimates around $32.76 give or take on either end.

Hi there, Spartan7P49. If you are seeing "plus tax" that just means that MSFt recognizes that your region/area has a sales tax. Even if sales tax were applied, it wouldn't matter. For me, sales tax is about 9%. But 9% of $0 is $0, right?

Sorry to hear you are getting charged sales tax. Have you updated your address? If you are still getting charged sales tax, I would suggest speaking to Xbox Support who can make sure you don't get charged sales tax on future purchases.
