Question about refunding games that have been owned for more than 14+ days

I just had a question regarding the refund/return policy and wanted to know if Microsoft had changed it, I remember being able to refund a game that you had for over a year but if you didn't have a specific percent and time on the game.

The original policy was rather simple - no refunds on digital purchases. Now, Microsoft may refund a purchase of a title that was purchased in the last 14 days and played for no more than two (2) hours. If your purchase does not meet that criteria,
you would not be able to get a refund.

I am 73 years old, 8 days ago I ordered Far Cry 5 on sale for $30.00 as a gift for my grandson. The picture indicated it was the disk in a box. It never arrived so I checked back and discovered it is a download. I ask for a refund and was told it is denied.
I didn't download it and never will. I went to Game Stop and bought one new in the box for $25.00 so I can give it as a gift to him. I guess Microsoft needs my $30.00 pension money more than me. My first time ripped off on the computer, and by Microsoft how
ironic.

You can always fill out the request form to see if they will refund it, but the policy is what Randy stated.

I was able to refund a game before that was digital and also more than a month old. I was just asking this question cause I was thinking of buying RD2 or Anthem

I requested the refund a second time and once again was told it is denied. Not the end of the world, but sure not good for customer loyalty.

If you completed the request form for a refund and were denied, you can respond to that e-mail to request clarification or to appeal the decision.
