Question about Media/Music App

I have bought a XBox 360 from BuyBacks (a local place that sells movies, music and games) and when I got home I formatted the XBox because I noticed the previous owner still had their account on there. Also I thought with formatting it, it would reset it
to factory settings since I didn't see a factory reset option. But anyways, when I go to the music section and click on the system media player part, it shows the options of playing from disc or other portable device but then it shows this email that I don't
recognize and I want to take this off but I can't. I am guessing this email is from the previous owner and he had the Windows Media Center hooked up to the XBox. So is there a way to delete this email?

Yes with the media player app it's possible to stream music and video from a computer or USB 1-3.0 storage devices.

Music when we play games?

Going by some people who posted in the preview program section who have the media player, as of right now, Music cannot be played in the background. In fact the Media app cannot even be snapped. Of course this is an early version of the app so hopefully
the final version will let us select music & then go to a game without the Music stopping.

So right now the media app preview will be good to watch video content but not so much for music multitasking.

Have you went ahead and reformatted the Xbox 360 consoles hard drive? I would do that if you haven't already, as that should wipe everything off of the device. You can refer to our
Xbox 360 Storage page, which has a section on how to format an Xbox 360 hard drive!

I figured it out. I even formatted it a few more times just to see if it worked which it didn't. I have been contacting XBox support on Twitter with not that much help. Anyways, I was looking through the apps on the app store on XBox and I came across an
app called HDD Eraser so I decided to give it a try and it worked and I have managed to get the previous owner's email from the XBox off. So I think that it would be good for others who buy a used XBox to format and also use HDD Eraser just to be on the safe
side.
