Question about internet usage amounts plz help

Hey guys

today i bought nba 2k15, and when i put it in it needed to do an install (obviously) that was around 42 gigs. my internet package has a 100 gig limit and I'm at 98 gigs at the moment. overage charges are $2.50 per gig, so id get charged $100 just to install
nba

my question is this : does the 42 gig install mean 42 gigs pulled from online, OR 42 gigs pulled from the disc?

i tried to install after going offline/disconnecting my router, but it would not install...if i reconnect to the internet and install the game, will i go way over my monthly usage?

I was wondering since the always online thing is mandatory how much bandwidth does the game use per hour.

Data, internet usage, whatever you call it. I was thinking since Destiny uses such a huge amount of data per hour (something like 1 GB per hour) and since the Division is essentially in the same genre which is share world co-op shooter how much data is being use.

The BETA player might be able to help me with this question

And please don't say I should just get uncapped. If that was a option I would not be asking this question. Thanks for the help in advance.

 

slow internet speed

Before I elaborate, quick question: Are you being throttled by your ISP provider?

I ask this because I have a rather fast internet connection. However, because of my uncapped contract, my ISP provider is constantly throttling my data usage once it reaches excessive amounts. My suggestion to you is join gaming servers that match your connection speed. Otherwise, you're setting yourself up for laggy, horrid gameplay.

Personally, I haven't done enough research on satellite internet to talk about it. But it could be a solution to your slow internet speed problems.

 

A majority will be from the disc... there will probably some pulled from online. Probably not way over... I would be surprised if you went over.

 

anyone know the actual numbers? I really dont want to blow $100 to play this this week

Check your ISP website there should be a more accurate way there, to check your internet usage. Telecommunications companies in Australia and NZ have a page on their website which lets you check your internet usage. Currently on 80GB/month could go for unlimited
but my folks don't want to pay an extra $20/month. I use most of the internet. Getting the facts from you telecommunications company would likely be more accurate than what the Xbox 1 Dashboard brings up. This Dashboard feature does help paint a picture of
it though. I will not listen to anyone who wants to push me and say 80GB isn't enough. 80GB works for me and spend more time on 360 than 1.

Unplug internet install game from disc then try update should give you a update amount if to big play offline till your band with gets reset that's what I used to do

 

it wont let me install the disc without an internet connection, which leads me to believe that the install is partly from the disc and partly from online

 

That's a first.

I always install discs offline because they install faster.

Then I get the updates when I plug back in.

Contact Microsoft Support or 2K. They should be able to confirm the details.

 

Try going into setting network then offline then do a hard reset then retry install I had to do this a few as with the soft reset it would still want to get online if that don't work mate when I get home from work I will delete my nba and reinstall it see

already tried the hard reset, didnt work, wont install without being connected to internet
