    Question about instant on mode


    I wanted to post this just to be sure. When you turn off the Xbox One when in instant on mode would it be safe to unplug it while it's off. Also if I would do that would it corrupt the console. I'm asking this question because when I got my first 360 I would
    unplug it when it froze. The reason why is when I turned it off with the power button it would corrupt my account and I was told from support on the phone to turn it off using the controller, but since it was frozen I couldn't turn it off using the controller.

    I've only unplugged the console once when it was on instant on while it was turned off. And from users said that unplugging a 360 while it's off only once or twice doesn't harm the console unless it was repeated several times.

    Yanking the plug while it is "instant on" is probably like yanking the plug on your PC while it is in "sleep mode"....probably not a good idea , but probably wont make it explode either...it should be turned off be fore the power is removed though ...or
    don't use instant on , I like mine to fresh boot when I'm gona play anyway...

    Yeah, I usually keep the console on energy saving most of the time. But I only did it once so would my console be okay.

    Yeah , I mean they tell you not to do things like that , but the electric goes off and flickers all the time so I wouldn't worry about it...

    So My console is set to instant on. As long as you power down the console first...either by controller or by pressing the white touch button on the front...its fine to kill the power from the lead etc. We have many power cuts and its never corrupted my unit.

    Thanks for reaching out to us today! To answer your question, It is normal for the USB port to still work even on energy saving mode. Having your console either on energy saving mode or Instant-on won't affect the functionality of the USB ports on the Xbox.
