Question about Fallout 3 on ONe and DLC ?

You know how we got a free copy of Fallout 3 with FO 4 ? Well its just the base game with no DLC ( not sure why they even bothered ) but If I bought the xbox 360 version of the GOTY and installed the DLC off that disk onto my ONE could I still play it with
my copy of FO3 on ONE with all the DLC? God, I hope that made sense!

DLC 360 on One

I have a fallout 3 problem myself. I have fallout 3 GOTY, my game disc does not read well on the one but the 360 it reads fine. the dlc disc of fallout 3 is fine and can read on the one.

Because I preordered fallout 4 I got fallout 3 game itself for download but no dlc with it so I put in the dlc disc and the console installed the dlc no problem. I run the game and check downloads and none of the dlc shows up at all not even when I load
the game but it's on my game manager as installed...

 

Fallout 3 DLC Disks

I have fallout 3 before GOTY and two disks that are DLC for Fallout 3 with two add-ons on each disk. I install everything with no problems but when i but in the fallout 3 disk like i would with Xbox 360 it would load the add-ons, but with the Xbox One it
don’t even recognize the DLC but when I go to game manage it shows fallout 3 and all 4 DLC on the drive. But if i put in one of the DLC disk in it recognizes that DLC, but how do I get it to recognize all four DLC????????

 

I seem to recall a lot of people in these forums complainIng that GOTY discs were not working with BC, not sure if that is true or not.

 

You cant install the dlc disc I had to buy some of the dlc as my save wouldn't work as I was in middle of the Pitt dlc

 

So I got to pay for all the DLC again ? they can kiss my ***, I will be deleting FO3 off my system. I wish I never redeemed the code, should have jsut gave it away to someone who doesnt mind a lite version of a game. Thanks for the input guys

 

They were looking into adding GOTY editions back in the preview days. A lot of people asked the question

Either Microsoft didn't bother or it is up to the original publisher if they want to include the DLC free with the game and what edition was allowed to to be added. I'm guessing it was a publisher decision.

 

What a shame, call me ungrateful if you want but I believe if you are going to do something do it to the fullest of your ability. The game has been out for over 5 years and the DLC packages have been out near the same. There is no reason they couldn't include
it. Oh well moving on.

 

It was just a guess I could be wrong.

 

DLC bought separately from the store (digital) seems to work...maybe there are issues with the DLC on a disk that also includes the game. Could be something that takes time to engineer, like dual disc games? Maybe they are working on it?

 

They did it with borderlands in you install that from disc you get all the dlc as well

 

I forgot Rare replay has all the DLC and gamer pics with the rare replay versions of backwards compatible titles. Borderlands was also tested with added DLC so it must be publisher choice. It is looking more plausible.
