Question about Digital xbox one games

Ive been wondering about Digital games i know on the 360 you can transfer the license to another account. on the Xbox one if you buy a used console that has digital games on it is there a way to have the games work on my account?

No, the games are separate.

However, some games have upgrade deals, for instance Destiny, where if you buy the 360 version you can *also* download the One version at no extra cost. However, these are special deals and not the norm.

Last year, there was a limited-time deal that if you bought CoD Ghosts on 360 you could upgrade to the One for $10 (this deal expired 31st March this year). It very much depends on the game.

Question about digital games

Sorry if I'm in the wrong place but I had a question about digital games on XBOXone. Will any of the games I purchased digitally on 360 play on xboxone? I know discs won't but was curious about this and couldn't find an answer thanks!

Hi there,

on the 360 you can Not transfer licenses from one account to another. You can only transfer licenses to a different console. See this link for the details:

Digital games can not be resold, the games will remain connected to the account that bought those games. So if you have bought the console, that will not mean you have bought the license to those games.

If there are games installed on a used Xbox One console, the only way you will be able to make them work is to buy them - either the disc or digitally. As WPAK said the licenses for the games can not be transferred between users nor will you have access
to someone else's games they may have installed on the console already.

You arent the owner of the games, so that's why it can not be done.
