Question about Controllers (kinda modded, but not)

So, I've read through some old topics on modded controllers (like ones with rapid fire and stuff), you use them, eventually, your account will be banned. But my question is not in the realm of modding a controller (or at least, I don't THINK it is, I'm
confused at this point).......after derping around, I found this bit of hardware that if I remember right, can actually let a person use a controller that isn't an xbox 360 controller with a 360 (like a ps3 controller with the 360 or an xbox one controller
with the 360), and this does (in NO WAY AT ALL) require any hardware modifications to the console in question, its in the form of a weird looking usb dongle; Since I think that this is the right area to ask this question, my question is this: IF I get this
bit of hardware and try to use a ps3 controller (or maybe one of those generic as crud looking gamepad controllers), would this be considered a modded controller or be against the rules in ANYWAY possible?

I just want to be sure so if I get this, and if its against xbox live guidelines, that I won't screw myself over in the long term; I had one scare with some douche taking control of my windows live account before, and I don't want to make another mistake
again. Besides, if this is not allowed, I'll most likely use it on my PC for non windows live games, like minecraft or something

Also, as an added thing, if I get a controller which was modded to have different LED colors, would that also be considered against xbox live guidelines?

    :)

  2. Why????? Someone explain!!!

I never ran into that kinda problem with modded controllers, the only games where I did see modded controllers was Halo 3 and MW2, but I havent been playing mw3 a lot lately so maybe thats why.

  4. Question about Controllers (kinda modded, but not)

Definitely against the ToU and could get you banned. Section 1.9 clearly states:

Use unauthorized software or hardware to access the Services or modify an Authorized Device in any unauthorized way (e.g., through unauthorized repairs, unauthorized upgrades, or unauthorized downloads). You agree that we have the right to send data, applications
or other content to any software or hardware that you are using to access the Services for the purpose of detecting an unauthorized modification and/or disabling the modified device.

Honestly I have no idea why you'd want to use any other controller... most critics cite the Xbox controller as the better one.

Ok, so I got the answer on the device thingy, but for the last but of this question, I now ask about the LED lights thing

Say I ask someone to simply change the color of the light on the controller to go from green to.....let's say red, or purple, and maybe put the controller in a new cooler custom-made casing (no rapidfire mods installed, no mods that have a use for online
gaming at all, just a simple case and light swap); would that too also be consider against xbox live's guidelines?

I'll be blunt, I read only a scant few things on the XBL Terms and Conditions thing, because of a case of tl;dr. Mind just summing it up for me so I can call this question answered?

    Where are the mods

I'm kinda lost as to what mods you are referring to.

Are you talking about mods for games, or some other sort of mod?

    Question about Backwards Compatibility.. kinda

It is an emulator, but it also connects to live and yes, your friends will see you as if you are on an Xbox 360.
