  1. Question about connecting Xbox 360 to new Xbox One during initial set up

Hi, I just bought an Xbox One and I watched a video on how to connect them together via HDMI so I've done that. I need to know now what to do with the power supply boxes and the phone cord.

I only have one available in-jack to my wi-fi router which is currently in use by the Xbox 360. If the two machines are connected (360 and One), can they share the same phone line if it's plugged into the Xbox One, or do I still need separate phone lines
for each console? Also, this may seem stupid to younger folks, but I'm a 48 year old woman so please don't be rude when you answer, do I need both power boxes on and plugged in (I'm also out of outlet/extension space on this wall). Do both power boxes have
to be connected to have both machines on, or will the 360 run off the power from the One since they're connected via HDMI??

Again, I'm sorry if these questions seem obvious to other people, it's not to me.

    :)

Hey there Epic! Aussie is on the right path here. An internet connection is required during initial setup of the Xbox One console, but after that you're good to go.

Here's a quote from our Your Feedback Matters - Update on Xbox One article:

Question about connecting Xbox 360 to new Xbox One during initial set up

Hey there no need nobody here is rude!

Yes both consoles would need to have there power bricks connected the 360 HDMI should go into the HDMI In (Sat/Cable) part of the console and into the TV. As for the Xbox one it should go into the HDMI Out To TV and then connect it to the TV turn both consoles
on and launch the OneGuide App.

My games & apps - Apps - OneGuide

The 360 screen should appear with a slight delay which i hope is okay with you.

And for the phone cord i believe you are mentioning a Ethernet cable which connects to the console and gives it Internet you would need to share that cable with both consoles sadly. If you haven't heard backwards compatibility lets you play 360 games on
the Xbox one without the need of a 360 just pop the disk into the console and it should run. if it is a digital copy of the game you should find it in the ready to install section of the My games & apps.

  5. Hello as far as setting up internet you would want to run 360 on Wi-Fi and Xbox one with the Ethernet cable.

  7. Thanks guys, I really appreciate the help. I finally figured out the part about running the 360 on WiFi. I had it hardwired so long, I forgot I could do that, lol.

Now the only problem I'm having is that the font on the One is much smaller than the 360 and I can't see it unless I use the magnifier but it won't stay on long enough for me to select anything when it's large. Is there another way to increase the font size
on the One? Having to get out of my chair and stand two feet in front of the TV each time gets a little old after a while. Also, I keep getting "lost" in all the menus... the 360 was really simple and straight forward. Is there a way to revert to a "Classic"
mode of viewing the dashboard on Xbox One? Thanks

As i am aware there isn't a way to change font size I've checked all settings that may include it but i haven't seen that option.

You can request for that feature to be added by going Here' click that hyperlink and you'll be taken to the Xbox uservoice website where players can request and vote for new features.

  9. Hey there RAINE LONDON -

While the option to increase the font size is not available, there is a "Narrator" feature that you can enable that will read the items on the screen out loud. For additional information regarding the Narrator feature, check out the guide

Hope that helps make the experience more enjoyable for you. Question about connecting Xbox 360 to new Xbox One during initial set up :)

  10. I tried the narator last night and found it annoying but thanks for the additional suggestion. It is actually better than the magnifier! Just wish I could customize the voice. Maybe make it British. lol

Ok.. my TV is 37 inches. My seating is 12 feet away. If I bought a 48 inch TV, do you think that would increase the font size enough to make it more readable?
