    Question about Chat Adapter Cable

    Hey,

You may have seen the other post I had about my chat adapter not working. I thought I had troubleshooted the problem enough to figure out that that was in-fact the problem. However, it now seems like it may be the 2.5<->3.5 adapter that is causing the problem.

Back in December, my XB1 headset started having problems. Because of this, I bought the chat adapter to use with my Panasonic KX-TCA400's and KX-TCA430's. The adapter worked great, and I had no problems.

Recently though, the 2.5<->3.5 adapter stopped working for me. Because of this, I grabbed a few of the other ones laying around the house to use. The problem, however, is that now whenever I'm talking to someone, they can hear themselves in the mic. The mic
seems to be playing all incoming audio (faintly) as output audio as well.

I then discovered, that I could get my XB1 2.5<->3.5 adapter to work if I was in the PERFECT position. Even just taping the controller would move it out of the correct position. When it was in the correct position however, it worked perfectly; there was no
echo for the other people. I confirmed this on the XB1 and on my cell phone.

    So, my question now, is:

What is the difference between the XB1 2.5<->3.5 mm adapter and a non-XB one?

I'm very confused. The adapters seem to have the same number of rings. Also, the fact that the non XB adapters also cause a faint echo on a cell-phone is very strange.

Also, I'm in the preview program but I don't think that has anything to do with it....as the problem persists on a phone as well.

    Things I've tried:

    - XB1 headset: worked great, then it broke

    - XB1 Chat adapter, XB1 2.5<->3.5 adapter, Panasonic headset: worked great - then 2.5<->3.5 adapter broke

    - XB1 Chat adapter, XB1 2.5<->3.5 adapter, XB360 headset: didn't work (adapter cable was broken)

    - XB1 Chat adapter, personal 2.5<->3.5 adapter, Panasonic headset: friends could hear themselves

    - XB1 Chat adapter, personal 2.5<->3.5 adapter, XB360 headset: friends could hear themselves

    - Cell phone, XB1 2.5<->3.5 adapter, XB360 headset: didn't work (adapter cable was broken)

    - Cell phone, personal 2.5<->3.5 adapter, Panasonic headset: friends could hear themselves

    - a few other things

It is also interesting to note that the cable is causing the headset to output the incoming audio. In order to confirm this, I have done the following:

    - Muted my monitor: friends still hear echo

    - Turned game volume up on my headset: friends hear the game audio coming through

    - Pressed the game-audio and chat-audio buttons until the beeped (on chat adapter): friends hear the noise

    - Pressed the volume-up button until it beeps (on chat adapter): friends hear the noise

    - Pressed the volume-down button until it beeps (on chat adapter): friends hear the noise

    :)

    Headset/chat question that needs answering

I have a Tritton AX 720 headset that I use for my Xbox One (plugged into the rear optical audio port). However, to receive chat audio that will allow me to talk too, it needs to be plugged into the controller via a cable.

My question is: if I get the Xbox One stereo headset adapter and connect the headset to it, will I still be able to get game audio via the optical cable? Or will it be forced into stereo mode because it's plugged into the adapter?

    Thanks in advance.

Astro A50 Xbox One set up

Just a quick question. I've decided I'm going to buy some A50's for my Xbox One. Other than the Xbox One headset adapter to enable voice chat, do I need to buy anything else seperately, e.g. an optical cable or usb cable, or will everything be in the box?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Well, I think I know the problem...

What I believe I need is a converter with a:

    - Female 3 pole (2 ring) 2.5mm

    - Male 4 pole (3 ring) 3.5mm

The headsets I'm using (my panasonic one and the xbox 360 mono one) are both 3 pole (2 ring) 2.5mm headsets. I'm guessing that the cables I'm using are meant for 4 pole (3 ring) 2.5mm headsets.

I think I'll call and/or tweet xbox support to see if they have any information about this...

If ANYONE on these forums knows of a place where I can get a cable like this...please let me know Question about Chat Adapter Cable :)

  8. Question about Chat Adapter Cable

for your information dont get those 2.5 to 3.6mm adapters, get one of the Turtlebeach talkback cables instead they have one end as 2.5mm and the other end a 3.5mm that is what you want.

try to get that one without the inline controlls thats being sold for the ps4 but as you can guess it works also on xbox one, am am using that one and it works fine (if my total wireless headset's battery needs to recharge and i have to use another headset).
